Since I had a touch screen nokia that started breaking within a couple of months I have ditched them.
By any chance was it the same I had? That touch and type shit? :D
I lost my hope on Nokia after that phone. They used to be so good!
But shame on you for buying an apple product
Heres my first phone
Jokes aside, I grew up in the country, and my bro and I honestly used those things when out: could get like 10 km range on them no worries at all, best was using obscure tuning to chat to him about what we were hunting/trapping, then tuning into some other locals chatting about flocks and floods and stuff, was weird to think that I listened to ppl who I never saw, since we seldom left our valley, not wanting to be accidentally shot or put your foot in a trap or scare someone's herd in the next valley, it was their "patch" and we had ours... But if I had found a high enough hill, I'm pretty sure I could have listened in to the Moroccan port authorities in Ceuta/Tanger (Thats in North Africa, across the Meditarranean sea for you NA folks).
EDIT: I just remembered the chilling, terrifying feeling, listening in to the pilots and locals when the forest fires came (Aircraft are used to waterbomb fires and the path of the fire). I also remember sitting at the beach (all down hill from my valley, right to the beach. Now its all holiday villas and blocks of apartments :C :C :C) and seeing a plane come in low, low, low and land a km out, and start pumping, and bro and I looking at each other, without a word running for our bikes and pedalling like mad uphill with the radio going batshit on every frequency, not knowing if it was our turn to lose our house, or if we were even gonna find a house... We never did actually lose it, cause my old man would stay alone and fight it back with a fucking rubber hose.... he must have been terrified but he always stayed, once the hose he was using melted behind him, and he had to dive into the pond and stay there untill it moved on a bit. But since he had built that and it was all we had, he wasn't gonna let it go. After we moved and sold that house, we warned the new owners about forest fires and cutting back the undergrowth etc, but they didnt listen and the place burnt down :C :C
Heroic as staying to fight a raging forest fire sounds, it's pretty stupid and you should never be within 10 miles of a wild fire, they can move faster than you can run, a LOT faster, and many firefighters in rural spain (They are volunteers BTW, and are airlifted to very dangerous situations because someone has to try) lose their lives when the wind changes :C :C
My maternal grandad was a hero also, a paratroop medic in WW2 btw, and he told me he never had to shoot anybody and that was his best memory of it, so that's :D :D instead of :C :C to lightern the mood
Damn memory is a funny thing. Yeah, walkie talkies, good times good times. Best phone Ive ever had. Battery life was decent too!
