Title: Pain Renforcement Based Gaming
Post by: engurrand on February 07, 2014, 12:45:32 am
Video rant by me on said topic.

Main points: We need a way to feel pain in games to increase their enjoyment. The time is now to begin the development. Who wants to work together?

I wasn't expected a good reception but i was at least expecting some of the gay men in this community to enjoy the idea of pain based gaming.

I think the reason why people play some video games is that they want to enjoy the otherwise dangerous experience without being affected by negative outcomes and conditions.

I mean, why the fuck would I play games like tekken while feeling every hit my in-game avatar suffers?

Because immersion is a part of the enjoyment,

Also the "negative" outcome could be very minor as long as the pain we talk about is a minor one, doubling immersion for some tingling sensation or something alike doesnt seem a bad idea.

Immersion can be achieved by better ways than that.

Maybe a tingle to tell you what direction a bullet came from, but pain? People disable FOG because it causes them too much pain.

Maybe they could sell different versions of games. One, The Little Girl Edition where there's no pain, and two, the Real Men Edition where you feel pain.

I feel like the pvp aspect and the whole "leet crew" mentality bullshit will be enough to get people to accept it..

Why just duel someone and win when you can actually cause them pain?

It brings a whole new domain to trolling...

Real men dont need video games to experience things like war, street fights etc.

I play video games to relax and have fun.

Reminds me my childhood when we played counter strike with friends on one computer - while one was playing, others were standing behind with pillows in hands ready to grant you full immersion when being headshotted
Can't say it was enjoyable, but it really motivated you to play carefully and avoid shots :)

Much butt hurt.

See...

Why get argue when you can duel him and make him FEEL PAIN..

Show him WHO IS BOSS BOY TOP KING..

Any ways.... I was thinking some people might have had some insight in how to implement this into game, or other such thing.. Not just the hardware but the firmware for the device and software integration.

Why just duel someone and win when you can actually cause them pain?

Because you are online and they will tell you that they are wearing it with fake cries of pain and all. Except you will be the only idiot actually wearing it.

Pain reinforcement next level should be ear pain when you are close to explosions or intense gun/cannon fire, lol

now that would make you camp all day.

I think that if you choose to play as a ranged char you should have to wear a dogs shock collar. Every time you shoot you get to yelp a tad bit.

what about those things that electrute your muscles to work them out, like you put on your stomach and it supposely gives you a six pack.

well aprently they hurt. so if you hook those up to your body, not only are you getting pain feedback, but the game is working out your body at the same time (at least slightly).

P:s video was too waffly, but I do agree with you.
