Some time ago I was on Eu2 and I came across a new awesome .... of course we all know that Ivani has some impressive muscles and a huge motivation .....

I saw Ivani4 play that day seemed like a Spetsnaz veteran who worked unaware of the danger behind enemy lines


Ivan4 rewrote the whole game mechanics

I do not think it's a joke, I think instead that we all have much to learn from Ivani,He is in fact despite the other players laughing at him for his style of play,he believed in himself and eventually got good resu lts.

There's no way for english people to read, for example, a russian name Vitaliy without spelling it like "Vitality", same for for Ivanich. I'm sure most people spell it like Ivani in their head and he is Ivani for them. That's what you get when you make such a nickname, understandable only for people from your country.

PS: same goes for me, many people spell it like Marco (a nordic name), and only kangaroos know what my nickname means.  :rolleyes:

Yeah I read his name as "Ivani Four"

If it's pronounced "ivanich" why not spell it the way it sounds?

Probably a bit older origins, it became common in Europe because it was in the bible (Gospel of Mark etc)  :P Maybe not wrong to say Italian origins, if talking about that particular form of spelling that name

Finnish names can't usually be called "nordic" Altho since the middle ages most of the names are just modifications of christian names, like in Europe usually. And according to wikipedia, Marco isn't his real name, it's Marko.  :wink:

Same reason why we don't say "Four Hundred and Twenty" in your name, and know that it really means "Four-Twenty."

True, but really it is a cultural difference of having unique "shortcuts/substitutions", like in China where there's symbolism in numbers like the Cantonese dialect.  So here we have some guy exploiting said substitution to make his name more unique, and given the metric crap-ton of people who speak Russian on EU he knows that at least a lot of people will get it. Also you could have been CrazyCracka_4_20  :P

I knew it was Ivanich for whole time but I always spelled it like Ivanifour :D , Also its not Marcopus guys, its Macropus!* And Turkish has the best unique letter ever "ğ" "Ğ" , deal with it!

It's a form of cyrillic translit, attempting to emulate cyrillic characters not present in latin with either combinations of different characters or various symbols and letters. 4 is spelled chitiri in russian, so it's commonly used in place of "ch".

Also,

Its Ivani and 4 is the number of battle program he have installed. If you were old enought you will remember that Ivani3 use downblock too often.
