gen 8 prepatch, gen 30 now
10/40how do you grind so hard?!
how do you grind so hard?!
how long have you been playing?(hours)
that's true.
but what do you heirloom after that point? your gloves?!
and where is that point?
Was gen 3 when I got into cRPG again two weeks ago, but I deleted everything when I realized my sweet sweet tier 2 langes messer was still bugged. So now I'm Gen 1, lvl 28 :?
Well, for the sole purpose of getting to level 35, there's no need to retire after gen 7 or 8 or so. The time needed to get to 35 just get's longer.
Getting to level 35 with full 3x heirloomed armour/weapons is a different story though.
Glad to see people are breaking the new retirement system too.
They need to make it so the multiplier doesnt drop down to 1 when you lose a round, If I have x5 and lose a round, make it go down to x3 or some crap, if you have x3, make it go down to x2,
does this make sense?
Get off your high horse. What else is there to do when you hit level 31 - grind for weeks to get to level 32 or try a new and unique build with different weapon specialities and have fun learning with a new set of skills and ability point allocations. Some people really enjoy the game and play a bit more, to call it breaking the system is silly and spiteful. They shouldn't retire because it offends you? chadz actually did a good job in the sense that retirement really doesn't give some overwhelming advantage (like pre-patch), if you can't manual block you are still going to suck in combat, if you can't aim you are still going to suck at ranged, because all you are getting are slightly improved stats. And if you are wondering, yes I often use my non-heirloomed equipment (like playing with different items, gets boring otherwise) and do roughly the same with k/d. It doesn't make anywhere near a big enough difference that you need to get so worked up about it (though I do say for archery its about the only thing that actually makes it close to being still a viable class).This.
Yeh, my clanmates have talked about this before, it makes a lot more sense that way. They should have also kept the 1500 base xp they originally had with the big patch before the minor updates and just lowered the xp bonus to 5% instead with a maximum of 100% bonus.
Gen 3 pre-patch, gen 23 now. This! How in grasshoppers name? How? You must be playing 8 hours a day!
From my own experience I would want faster xp gain, 60 hours for a gen seems quite a lot, but if I see the people here, their generation gaining would be through the roof.
Oh my lord, I was lvl 27 prepatch, now I'm gen 2 halfway to lvl 31. I rarely play other games than cRPG and I feel like I play quite a lot.

Pretty interesting thread to see who is casual or funplayer and who is grinder.
Obiouvsly the two don't play the game for the same goal and achievment.
If people want to work towards something, I recommend heirlooms. Retirement will be back soon, and the only condition will be level 31.
I don't know if heirlooms are currently strong or hardly worth it, if it's the latter, they might get a buff. I'll check with the items team.
Also, there will be a, how should I put it without revealing too much, very special set of "skills" that you can acquire soon, in another way than simply leveling. This should make things very interesting for people that want to have more persistance to their char, without breaking the balance that the game has currently recieved (aka not making them godlike).
Now let me get back to finishing that patch, just dropped in here to announce this :).
That's funny I really like playing the game so I played a lot and retired a lot, Goretooth in earlier post mentioned he liked the game. But then you see people complaining and getting angry at people who retired because they don't have the same heirlooms or are smug, which seems more of a grinder mentality to me. The heirlooms really don't make that much of a difference, I just used non-heirloomed danish great sword with non-heirloomed plate mail and did better than I usually do. I think being a tin can is lame so i don't do it too often, but most people can afford it now so if you really are worried heirloomed people have an advantage just pull out the plate and greatswords or elegant poleaxe.
Currently the higher your gen the faster you gain xp, it should just be the other way around, the lower your gen the faster you gain xp.
every 10 generations should add another level to retirement. ie:
1-10 = 31
11-20 = 32
21-30 = 33
etc....

every 10 generations should add another level to retirement. ie:Something like this would be interesting. At gen 11 it takes you half as long as a gen 1 to get to level 31 and lvl 32 is twice as long as that. This means the time it takes to retire for a gen 11 would be the same for a gen 1.
1-10 = 31
11-20 = 32
21-30 = 33
etc....
Fail options. You're missing 1-5/1-5 and 5-10/10+.
1-5/1-5 here, btw; I only ever retired in the first retirement patch. I'm thinking of retiring all my chars again now to tweak stats, though.
1-5/1-5 is the first one. Missed the second one though :P Those can just click on other as its too late to change it. thx for pointing that out
So "pre-patch gen 1" actually means "pre-patch gen 1 or more, but no more than 5"? Okay. :P
