You shouldn't have to go to a fief to drop equipment you "won" from a battle...you should be able to drop shit on the ground wherever.
Maybe make the stuff you drop somewhat lootable by others?
-
can anyone enlighten me why this feature had been removed anyway?
I see it as a valid tactical way to not give the enemy anything into his dirty hands.
Also if you get 500trillion stones through attacking a juicy looking caravan , what donkey actually would like to carry those to the next fief to build a cathedral as high as the Rocky Mountains.
-
Id be fine with being able to drop items as long as the dropped stuff was 100% lootable. Otherwise victorious armies would just drop all their loot if they were about to be attacked. This way the person can choose to either give up his loot without a fight and avoid being Tped, or just fight it out.
-
I agree there should be some scorched earth tactics to destroy what you have plundered so when you cannot hold a fief for example, at least it would be worthless to retake. Or if you simply dont want to hold a fief and just sack it completely and move on

build a cathedral
Let me build a tower out of stones plzk?

The same donkey who attacked that juicy looking caravan thinking there would be a great abundance of loot
You make the attack to get the loot, you dont like the loot? Maybe it will make you think twice before attacking a target that looks too good to be true
However, I agree with being able to drop the loot you acquire from a battle because some of it is trash
But hey, if you have the stones to attack a caravan, it should be on you with what you wind up with since you are the badass trying to take that loot, even if it is trash and not treasure
-
I'd say, give the ability to only drop damaged gear.
If you can drop goods, attacking caravan will be useless.... people will just dump everything if they see someone coming for them.

Would make it terribly fun to watch all these unarmed enemy caravans carrying 5000 crates drop everything without being attacked, and being unable to pick them up again :D

Right, because if you attack a caravan, everyone KNOWS you HAVE to take everything they had on them, even the dirty diapers the kids were wearing. It's not like you'd see 10 wagon full of rocks and say "no thanks", I mean, you'd be obligated to take them, even if there was another army trying to catch you.

So you make the gear you drop be lootable for a certain period of time (maybe a day or two or a week). I agree that it's nice to trick people into attacking and having to carry around 10,000,000 rocks, but they should be able to drop the loot they take on the ground, and anyone should be able to take it.
This is just obvious/common sense. Of course you should be able to lighten your army's load to avoid being attacked or captured...but that army should be allowed to pick through your gear.

What if you can't drop goods when you get attacked?
"But they will just drop them before they get attacked."
What if dropped goods are shown on the map and can be collected (by anyone) for 24 hours?

Well that's a big IF but a nice idea. :D
I just get the feeling that adding a delete button for your damaged gear is way more simple than adding object on the map. :!:

It definitely should be a delete button for equipment. I was mainly talking about goods (hence the part I bolded"ed).
It's really just a suggestion for the "but what if they drop items just to stop us from getting it?" argument.

There is one very important reason that this is not implemented.
So when I come to wreck your shit you can't just drop all your stuff. I wants it, I'ls gets it.
There should be a victory message though which allowed the winner to choose what they take and what they leave though. I don't want 500 different broken items and 30000 stones.

Well I was specifically referring to after battles that you've won...hence the first sentence of the topic (quoted below since you seem to have a short attention span)...

I wasn't talking about scorched earth policy or just dropping shit to get away from an army (but I think you should be able to do both if they can make it possible to have that gear lootable). You should be able to drop gear on the ground to make your army faster, but to be fair to the army chasing you, they should be able to loot the gear you drop (or anyone should be able to) for a certain period of time.
But that is secondary, my main concern is that when you win a battle you "win" all the gear left over, when you may not even want it. You should get the loot option like you do in single player. If I win a battle I should be able to decide if I really do want 10,000 rocks or not.
-
It looks like we agree.
-
I think you should be able to choose which gear you keep after a fight. Then after you choose, probably only up to your 1 hour of immunity or maybe even 5 hours or something, others can go to the battle site and scavenge what they want. This helps small and poor factions. -4 gear, when you have nothing isn't so bad. -4 gear, when you have over 200 items and want to be able to access your ranged gear is horrible. After 24 hours, the battle site should disappear and whatever is left is destroyed. Hell, if you don't want trade goods because you're a war party about to siege a city and don't want to be slowed down, you wouldn't have to take them and someone else could pick them up.
That way, it's not like you can just ditch stuff when you see a pursuer. and want to go faster. You should be held accountable for poor planning.
