Title: **Unofficial 2.9.0 Patch Notes**

Can everyone place the changes they have discovered here so we can form some kind of update log for the latest patch since the devs have failed us with the notes? I will compile them into the first post. Thanks to everyone who is contributing.

Bugs
Added Player Ghosting which allows players to pass through other players during combat. (Brock)

Modifications
Overhand swings seem to miss more, new hit boxes or bugged hitboxes? (Brock)
Archery WPF is now calculated by Athletics instead of PD (Brock)
Studded Warclub lost its unbalanced tag  (Peasant Woman)

::Regular arrows::
- Decreased to 88  (down from 95)

::Barbed::
- Decreased to 90 (down from 95)

::Tatar::
- Decreased to 89 (down from 95)

::Bodkin::
- Increased to 93 (up from 91)

::Side Sword:: +1 cut damage
::Fauchard:: heirloom bonuses were reduced; a +3 Fauchard is now a Masterwork Fauchard rather than an Elder's Fauchard. Where it once got 4 additional damage on its swing and 3 additional damage on its thrust, it now gives 3 additional damage on its swing and 2 additional damage on its thrust.
::Great Maul:: (and possibly Maul and Mallet as well) heirloom bonuses were reduced. Where a +3 Great Maul once got 4 additional blunt damage on its swing, it now only gets 3 additional blunt damage.

most of the 2h axes +3 dmg (Persian Battle Axe now has highest dmg among all melee weapons)
::Longsword:: +1 speed +1 cut dmg

::Miaodao:: +1 speed, +2 dmg

::Katana:: +1 cut +2 pierce

::Dadao:: +2 speed

::Danish/German GS:: +1 pierce and cut dmg, -2 speed

Made high PD archery more viable (Tore)

2ndary modes buffed (need specifics) (Kulin_Ban)

Horses *seem* to react more sluggishly, less turning radius, lower speed, more reactive to rain (Dexxta)

Heavy lance nerfed to 23p down from 26p

Broad short sword +1 cut

Bugs:
Added Player Ghosting which allows players to pass through other players during combat.

Afaik this has always been possible, run into another player for longer than 3 seconds and the collision detection gives up and lets you ghost through them.

Two changes I'm aware of;

Chinese head/body/leg armor added.
Studded Warclub lost its unbalanced tag.

- Bow accuracy decreased modified slightly for the top two bows (Rus bow reduced to 99, long bow increased to 103)
- Bow damage increased
- Arrow lengths reduced (exception bodkins)

I believe the patch was rough on archers.  If they want to run, and shoot, thats fine.   On the whole, good new polearms, and i actually like the new hit boxes.

My archery characters seem to be very similar if not the same as what they were pre-athletics nerf patch.

I also believe that they have increased the frequency of repair of horses, but I'm not sure if anyone can confirm ?

I think they changed Bow looms.

Before they got +3 Pierce on MW now they get +2.

Edit: I think the Katana got +2 Pierce and +1 Cut.

Cus Prepatch my MW Katana had 40 c now 41c.

Anyway the ranks of the 2hers got changed I think.

Before they got each rank 1 more cut damage now they got none from +1 to +2 but get +2 c from +2 to +3...

Updated information regarding the bows. I mistook the values and read the backwards. bow weight is DECREASED. Changed my original posts to reflect the changes.

Rus Bow:  
- Damage increased to 18c (up from 16)

and now pure str 13PD archers seem much more accurate with 110wpf than before, does anyone notice that?

The weight of Xbows has been increased, dont know by how much exactly.

Also bolts & steel bolts have more weight now. I guess to decrease the amount of kiting arbalesters  :mrgreen:

You forgot the astards sword and heavy bastard sword both gained 2 speed.  Also, the change in the length of the arrows or something else in the last patch has messed up the hitboxes on arrows (something like this happened back when they first implemented WSE) and you can shoot through people's chest and not have it actually connect.  Been happening pretty regularly to a number of archers I know and I have noticed it as well.

absolutely nothing this patch is a joke

imo it's more a problem from decreasing the missile speed than lengh

I'm pretty sure War Bow's damage at masterwork was the same as the Long Bow's, but now it's 1 less than that... so I think you got something wrong.

Archers still sometimes kill my Greatswordhero. More nerfing please, clearly still not enough yet. :lol:
I quess the patch explains why most of the archeryheroes are nolonger exsistent. I kinda miss the old days now.

Also quivers of arrows weigh as much as a great maul now (makes total sense), so when you fight in strategus with 3 quivers of arrows you cant even move -its like you are in full plate.  Yeah lets remove skill entirely by not even allowing you to dodge enemy ranged or enemy cavalry and just stand and shoot.

After a few days of stf testing, battle and siege I've yet to discover what's the point of archery now ?

Archers are now the slowest moving units on the battlefield. Considering that the hybrid/melee abilities of archers didn't get buffed yet again they are also the least hard hitting units on the battlefield ( in melee ). On top of that they are also the most fragile ones and wpf curves still dont allow archers to put any wpf into a category other than archery.

Dodging a horse or enemy ranged is now close to impossible. Shielders now autokill archers by moving in close with a 100% success possibility due to unpenetrable energy shields and then kill them with a 99% win possibility due to vastly superiour damage, attackspeed, armor, health, movement speed and most of the cases also weaponreach.

If thats not enough, loomed archers got nerfed in terms of damage, missile speed and missile drop.

The only thing I can imagine that archers are useful for now is camping somewhere as far away from the action as possible and spam arrows across the whole map while hoping not to hit any teammates. Needless to say that most spots that give an advantage for ranged have been nerfed balanced out of the maps some patches earlier.


Is this the devs way to say "respec to HA now" ?

If its that bad, lower arrow weight slightly, give archers access to a couple of decent speed and length short swords (0 slot).

Doing this will enable archers to dodge cavalry again, though it will probably be a challenge. Archers will be able to fight capably in melee but with lower damage (unless forgoing athletics for powerstrike, but then they'll be slow again). Running from a fight will be less tempting than just trying to fight the attackers off and looking for help.

This sounds a lot more like my image of a medieval archer than 'walking semi-auto laser scope ballistas' like before, and 'helpless glass cannons' like now.

Slugish movement nerfed our performance in short range. Im out there placing my ass on the line with my mace, so that melee noobs who barely know how to block dont have to make much of an effort to kill me. Then the insults or the random kick polling of archers, since the devs keep implying we aren't worth respecting as players.

Is it me or something has changed in hitbox detection ? I played as shielder befor patch and compared to the current situation I feel a big difference. It is not normal that I or someone else is killed before animation of swing reach the body. This is weird. Also there is more spammers than before.

At this moment game is unplayable for me  :cry:
