After a few days of stf testing, battle and siege I've yet to discover what's the point of archery now ?
Archers are now the slowest moving units on the battlefield. Considering that the hybrid/melee abilities of archers didn't get buffed yet again they are also the least hard hitting units on the battlefield ( in melee ). On top of that they are also the most fragile ones and wpf curves still dont allow archers to put any wpf into a category other than archery.
Dodging a horse or enemy ranged is now close to impossible. Shielders now autokill archers by moving in close with a 100% success possibility due to unpenetrable energy shields and then kill them with a 99% win possibility due to vastly superiour damage, attackspeed, armor, health, movement speed and most of the cases also weaponreach.
If thats not enough, loomed archers got nerfed in terms of damage, missile speed and missile drop.
The only thing I can imagine that archers are useful for now is camping somewhere as far away from the action as possible and spam arrows across the whole map while hoping not to hit any teammates. Needless to say that most spots that give an advantage for ranged have been nerfed balanced out of the maps some patches earlier.
Is this the devs way to say "respec to HA now" ?
