Near all maps on Siege Mode still suffer from the 'running in tar' interiors where it feels like everyone suddenly has 0 ATH and are wearing full plate, ignoring character builds and making movement awkward and random.
Was this caused by building onto cliff sides or some other movement penalizing terrain which somehow is still triggered through several castle floors? Remembering a time before this bug was introduced I was thinking it perhaps would be possible to fix it, or at least remove maps where it's present and make sure we won't see it in any new maps that are added?
-
thats native bug, it was like that from the beginning
-
Yes, but it wasn't there during beta until one of the last patches before release.
-
I hate it, basically renders my 11 athletics useless and gets me killed in situations that I wouldn't die in normally.

Everyone is slowed to the same speed?

Yup.

It's an issue with the map(s) itself. The NA community server - when it had siege - was actually fixed.
NA Official, to my knowledge, retains the broken mechanics.
-
Its really annoying when your defender or attacker an have to rush to the flag or choke points that's for sure.
-
It's related to a few specific scene props that slow people down horribly
-
I say remove anything that slows people down stairs hills wood ect ect..
-
One of many reasons I don't play siege.
I also dislike the repetetive transportation from one point to another which takes more time than waiting while dead on a battle server.
-
So, siege is broken and ignored.
Why am I not surprised?

This, planked floors and any ladder are the same. Forward and backward movement is given a molassesesqe effect, while strafing with A and D key bypasses the "FUCK U MOVE SLOW" trigger.
The devs are well aware of what exactly causes it, I yelled about it to them until they brainstormed some easy fixes in either the code or changing the props.
Then nothing was done ~~cRPG~~

as a guy with 0 athletics
It is signed
I can only approved

Must be some variable connected with these as props that worked flawlessly at one point were suddenly bugged after a patch (for example the old 'Castle 3') yet retaining the same props, with two or three more patches coming before release without addressing the issue.

it seems like it does this on battle and siege (for NA1 and NA2). not sure if it does it on strategus siege maps (don't recall that it does).
-
Like Froto said, you guys are surprised this is happening on NA servers?
No one gives a fuck about NA servers. Not anymore. Shit was so much better a year ago when we had ATS running NA. Now, it's just a neglected mess of shit that no one wants to even try and fix.
In short, FUCK NA.
-
This has nothing to do with NA vs EU, it's hardcored into the game or at least the props the game uses. EU isn't free from tar pit travel on siege either.
ATS maps had the same problem. And while maybe they edited maps in and out more often, ATS run servers also literally had jerk off ATS members as server admin who permabanned people on a daily basis for laughs, and this was done liberally and consistently for several months until at least 30 players I knew were permabanned, most of which didn't even break a single rule.
I'd rather be neglected then get the attention of a drunken, raving, abusive pedophile of a caregiver.

Reported it like 3 weeks ago

It's a warband feature since ages.
-
I don't think anyone thinks it's anything new
-
Removed it from some tower props and the keep prop. Included in the next patch.
-
Thank you for your time Ozin, but regrettably this is still very much present in most castle interiors :?
-
ozin you rule
-
it is still present because the server hasn't been restarted in months now....
PLEASE RESTART NA SERVERS lol....
There's like 40 updates to NA2 I know of alone that are not implemented yet because server has not been restarted.
(Not to mention its been lagging like a mofo last week or so)
