Afraid not.  Moved to Colorado 3 months ago because Illinois had become the worst state in the union.

Anyhow, good luck to you guys and your clan, i'll keep you posted on the strat battles and will sign you up if i see you apply. As spook knows, there are always a lot of them because we are bandits. Also, we've been getting better gear, so i have some MW long bows, heavy bastard swords, etc. for next time.

Nobody is there to lead whatsoever.  Just a feeding frenzy for organized clans to do whatever they want to the pub masses while I'm away.

Honestly, I haven't checked the thread since I made the beginning post.  I get tired of the politics of the forum and the admins, and I've been playing mechwarrior.  I'll probably take a gander here in a day or two.  But I've been saying that since Friday.  :P

I've even seen a couple of CRPG players in Mechwarrior though.  Pretty cool.

So I take it you're enjoying the mechwarrior beta. I wish I could bring myself to play it more, but I'm really waiting on the devs to put in "community warfare", so I can fight over something and for something. Kinda got tired of dropping into random matches that might end up starting with 2-3 teammates disconnecting and against a premade of 8 people all in 3rd party voice coordinating hard as fuck. Also not very fun when you get a premade and rick-roll and dominate everyone. No challenge.

Yeah it can be pretty hit or miss.  I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I have though; especially considering it hasn't even reach open beta yet.  I fought a premade team full of jenners and commandos the other day and it was probably the funniest thing I've seen in a while.  Been working on mastering the Atlas mech, so I have to get used to doing as much damage as I possibly can to make it worth my while.  Learning the weak points on mech variants, where they tend to keep their ammo if they carry any, how do disarm their main weapons fast an effectively, etc...

Still learning the ropes, but I'm getting pretty good rather quickly.  Thought I still have to be careful not to rush an area alone, in hopes of achieving a crossfire, as I'm fond of doing.

My go-to build with the Atlas is currently a reconfig of the vanilla variant.  4 medium lasers (1 in each arm, 2 in the center mass) complimented with 2 AC/5's in the right torso with about 100 shells of ammo and an anti missile system carrying 2000 rounds to help nullify LRM boats.  It's a good all round choice that excels in medium to close range and can perform well throughout the entire round.

I've also been using a long range variant, I created earlier this morning, that boasts 2 PPC cannons, a gauss cannon, and 2 medium pulse lasers.  Very good at laying some hurt at medium to long range though it can overheat fairly easily despite how many heatsinks it's loaded with.

I've found it's better to try mastering one mech at a time rather than spreading your focus out.  Though you have to find the mech that's right for you first.

My favorite variant so far was the hunchback HBK-4G, loaded with an LBX10, 2 machine guns, and 3 flamers. Really fun to go up against an Awesome PPC boat and completely lock it down. I've nicknamed it "The Tackler". Really, machine guns are near worthless on paper, but in-game I do enjoy them. Great sound effects and visuals.

I dunno, I've gotten a surprising amount of kills with twin machine guns I was using on a PPC catapult.  That and I love having them for the aesthetic appeal.  Can't wait to pilot a madcat eventually, with everybody and their grandmother included, and have those 4 machine guns right there in the center hull.

Old school rap =/= made in the 90's.  I'm not even a fan of the genre and even that is well known to me.  It may seem old to you since it was created before you were born, but considering when the genre emerged, it's not even remotely close.  It'd be like playing some Nirvana and calling it old school punk.

Old school pioneer rap had heavy beat and rhythm connotations to disco music and often sampled or remixed heavily as demonstrated by one of my favorites:


I shouldn't have bothered writing this because it will just encourage you to respond and bring more bad taste into the topic, but I couldn't help myself.
If you're going to heavily promote the genre and pretend to be a connoisseur, at least try to know what you're talking about.

Well I was only about a year old when White Lines came out, but that's besides the point.  I don't really enjoy the pioneer rap from the late 70s and early to mid 80s.  The genre of rap and hip-hop I like, is the music from when I was a younger kid and teenager, from the early 90s to the early 2000s (mainly ending before 2000 though). 

When I say old school rap, I should have said gangster rap.  But I enjoy a lot of the other hip-hop/hip-pop music that was on the radio in the early and mid 90's as well, lots of rhythm and soul music.

And cmon, nobody likes Nickelback.  I do enjoy NIN, Seether, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Marilyn Manson, Korn, etc.  I like all sorts of music from all genres.

I remember back nearly a decade ago when I was a junior or senior in high school; we had to bring in a piece of music to play for our English class, print out the lyrics for everyone, while we went over them and analyzed them in front of the class after giving our interpretation.

This was the gem that I chose.

I was doing A LOT of drugs back then, but I'm  pretty sure I got an A.
That was a funny class.

1.  There is a large difference between having an intellectual discussion on situations such as protocol and conduct amongst officials and simply voicing subjective opinions based on personal preferences such as cultural arts.
2.  You must not understand what ad hominem is considering that you're attempting to apply it to what I said.  Let me give you some education on the phrase.

Ad hominem is essentially trying to discredit someone, belittle, or nullify the point they are trying to make by drawing a connection to a negative personal trait or past historical belief they might have that is often completely irrelevant to the topic at hand.

According to wikipedia:
An ad hominem (Latin for "to the man"), short for argumentum ad hominem, is an attempt to negate the truth of a claim by pointing out a negative characteristic or unrelated belief of the person supporting it.[1] Ad hominem reasoning is normally described as a logical fallacy,[2][3][4] more precisely an informal fallacy and an irrelevance.

Now considering that is definitely not what I did with anything said.  This leaves me to believe you have no understanding of what the word actually means.  To give an example of ad hominem:

While Spook Island defends himself against administrators who have a pension for abusing extremely gray and subjective areas of rules for their own desired benefit, despite being proven to be hypocritical and unbalanced in such methods of their utilization, he is attacked via ad hominem by a third-party spectator who hopes to stir up trouble and discredit what he is saying by accusing him of faking his own death; a belief completely irrelevant to the context of the discussion that also happens to be rooted in fiction as opposed to reality.

This is an example of ad hominem.

Would you like me to go into further detail in case you aren't quite grasping the concept of it?  I could always go grab more definitions of the word for you to look at.
On a related note, do you need me to also explain to you what a logical fallacy is or maybe even a strawman argument?  I mean all it would take was a simple google search on your part, but I know some people still need to have things explained in a simple manner.

It's times like these I wonder if I should have listened to my undergrad marketing professor and become a college teacher like he insisted.

Easily my favorite one-hit, one-album wonder bands.  The whole record they produced is so outstanding it breaks my heart they didn't go on with their career.
Literally better than any single depeche mode album ever made.  "Heaven" has arguably one of the greatest guitar riffs I've ever heard.

If you think that is a "massive" response, don't ever try applying for the Master's program at any college.  You definitely won't be able to cut the mustard.  Also, it wasn't really a small jab; more of a blatant and irrefutable incision cutting/diving straight into the meat of your integrity as a human being.

Oh, and what of my character?  It's a well known fact I'm an alpha-male with an alpha-type personality that doesn't take bullshit off anyone. You are quite aware of that.  You're trying to tangle with the tiger and you're getting eaten alive for your troubles.  Maybe this is a historic moment for you that you'll remember for the rest of your life, but to me it's just a Friday morning mental exercise that still hasn't broken me a sweat yet.

Carrots, bell peppers, broccoli, sweet corn, onion, mushrooms, water chestnuts; all glazed with low sodium sweet & sour and sweet & spicy sauce
served with 2 packages of shrimp ramen noodles

it could feed a family of five

but it's all mine.

There's an entire large chicken breast in there.

It was too big to fit in the corning dish frozen so I had to heat it up for 10 minutes in the oven before I could make it fit with the lid over it.
It's so fucking good, and it's so fuckin healthy.  The mushrooms further supplement it by adding a lot of extra protein.  Not to mention the 3 tall glasses of whole milk accompanying it.

Lotta carbs, lotta protein, lotta fiber.  Everything a growin boy needs.

Takes about an hour and ten minutes to cook the entire thing.  I cook a meal of this splendorous magnitude probably 3 times a week depending on how I feel.

I trained myself in college to eat absolutely disgusting shit that was also incredibly good for you.
Once you're used to doing that, eating normal vegetables is like sinking your jaws around a hamburger.

I make it a point to stay physically fit.  These days that revolves mostly around weight lifting.  Have to eat A LOT if you want to make any progress.
Can't take care of the mind if you don't take care of the body.
Neglecting one weakens the other.

Here was another tune I was prone to playing after we had an awful day getting absolutely slammed with order after order by club members for hours on end.

I had a policy where I wouldn't let any of my employees go home angry so we'd have these 5 minutes dance parties inside the cabana, at the end of the day, for people to get their negative emotions out.
