I disagree with a lot of what you said, I'd advice instead on exchanging the virgin with a siege-style flag, and then making all maps open...
Sure an archer with a 7ath+ pure my old friendcher build who relies on running instead of a backup weapon will die, but fuck them, even on my HT build with 0PS or melee wpf I can get kills if I'm dehorsed in close combat, while here my old friendchers aren't able to do it like I do due to slower weapon changing, but they still got teammates to help them unless they got the retarded idea they should run up and kite alone, also, my old friendchery is viable with slight melee hybridism... allowing for cav to play would only be ok if the AI acts less retarded around cav (either slowly chase them forever while the HA on the horse slowly shoots them all to death or not really notice the lancer couching straight at them) but currently I must say no.

Also, you're not supposed to actually get to the fucking tincans, everything after those physcho xbowmen ('cept maybe engineers) is trolling random shit for a reason...

verything gets harder after the Nords I can understand that Zlisch, currently it is possible to go to those waves by glitching and that is why i am suggesting this so that players will have more chance to fight them in open plains map.[/spoiler]
Well, TBH replacing the virgin doesn't mater that much, just makes insta map change abuse harder I guess... yes, everything gets much harder after the sea raiders the guys that come after them, but seriously, with teamwork and builds made to work together you can beat Tincans with a large group on an open field.

Teamwork doesn't equal Chase... or byz... and I'll type clear win instructions here for free, let's say you're filling 25 of the server slots, 15 towershielders holding block with high block skill, 8 pure STR pike/longspear users inside the towershield circle, 2 15/27 DGrs in light armor to chase down and kill the last few random bots stuck somewhere.

And that is only the sure-win possibility, there are many  other ways to do it, some working best with few players, others best with many.

dtv in crpg isnt working cause its done wrong(duh :lol:) One of the early mods for warband was Invasion mod, which was, and still is suecesfull cause
1.objective was to survive, and not to defend an object(which made it easier)
2.most of the players chose ranged wepons, and there, ranged was able to kill a bot in 1-2 shots(its worthy noticing that all invasion players wanted to play wiht factions that had muskets, cause they were powerfull, and every time server switched, they polled back to musket factions)

One of the reasons also, is, generally bad ai , combined with badly ai meshed maps it doesnt bring great results.

what could be done? id say

1.switch to defend yourselve mod, instead of virgin
2.implement friendly bots(something simillar to captain co op in wfas):
every suecesfull wave, or round, would give everyone "dtv gold" which would be spent on ai bots. Ai bots would have predefined skills and equipment depending on what bot are they (archer mellee, etc). Every player would get their own dtv gold, and he would spend it on whatever bots he wishes (that would encourage some teamwork agreements).

Gazda, you are talking about Full Invasion right? its a awesome game mod where you build barricades and fences, and the bots can destroy them. have you ever try my mod called Extra Invasion? Its based on full invasion but its alot harder, i guess i am going to redo it again.

The biggest difference in invasion was that you had a greater mass of generally weaker bots and then some boss waves with a few very tough bots and it had specially designed maps that provided defensible areas, most of which usually had a single, long path the bots had to take (the dungeon was a fucking classic). The gamemode just doesn't work in the random village maps.

well ptx have you ever try Extra invasion? I made that mod and its extrmely hard. Where players play as Spartans, Crusaders, Empire, Musketeer, Vikings, Dragon Age Characters against Zombies, Mongols, Romans, Japanese Samurais/ Ninjas, Persians and Aliens. Extra invasion is in full invasion thread on talesworld forum.

yes and i know how to make them weaker. But the hoster needs to give me the host files on the troops.txt then i can edit them

I wouldn't change anything, in my opinion, especially not the friendly-fire. A game without friendly-fire sucks balls.

AI don't have friendly fire itself, (Except ranged only)

I have seen bots hit each other with melee weapons a couple of times. It only happens when you are moving and the bot doesn't have time to cancel the attack, I suppose.

But, anyway, that isn't a reason to disable FF... Take a look at Nord Invasion. It's a nice mod, but it has reflective FF (crap) and, in the old DTV, FF was off (bigger crap).

This is false, i have never ever saw them hit each other in melee (it is hardcoded and friendly team hit does not apply for them, cmp also know this) What you are saying must be bots accidently shooting each other. When their blade hit each other nothing happens. Watch them for few times in spec you will get what i mean. Also if we turn off Team hit no one will kill the virgin the change the map. (or just revert it back to defend the village)

This new and improved DTV is my favorite game mode now. I love it. I agree with some of the suggestions. It would really be nice if players could keep horses at rounds end and I don't think it'd be overpowered because AI doesn't have heavy armored horses. Not having horses just encourages players to glitch to win because a huge tactical ability has been taken from them (horses). Also about glitching....unless the map has a small opening or bridge etc to shieldwall I don't know how it's currently possible to beat this game mode without glitching....unless there happens to be all elite players on at the time.

Bots are tough and with super human abilities (health, damage and accuracy) but they need to be otherwise good players would steamroll them. Maybe they run a little too fast...maybe but not sure.

Mode is awesome now though, just some simple changes could make it perfect.
