Never knew you drew that Muki, it's pretty cool. Lots of emphasize on certain parts, but no one's complaining  :wink:

Zylorage might be master ninja, but I think he is reverting to samurai now. And no we wouldn't have two leaders. A master ninja is still a servant to the shogun. Same as a master samurai lol.

We would love to have you Zoleta and Musashi, but you both can't be kensei! xD

However, we prefer to have main characters for strategus, so we can't accept any alts in our clan. Feel free to use our banner in battle or siege though. Just understand that being part of the clan officially means more than just wearing a banner.   :wink:

We've gotta get down a day of the week (or two) that we can practice. Our individual skills are commendable, but I've noticed that when the clusterfuck starts, we all end up hitting each other as much, if not more than, we hit the enemies. We can also work on anyone's Dueling skills (if they need help), as well as having everyone learning to be proficient with both the Blade AND the Spear, regardless of wpf/class.

And Spanish, lol, yeah it has been fun, frustrating at times, but fun :P. Don't forget about all of your archer support though. They play major rolls in our cav matches. ;)

I will say this, Hospitaller archers have encouraged some of our members to pick up archery. You have taught us well the difficulties of an archerless clan vs a clan with many.

Dont thank us for it. Thank fallen and their never ending supply of archers. We have only picked it up for strat to end the endless amount of KUTT pikes they're seem to be. And they keep me from getting overly aggressive in combat haha

If this player that's applying for Koshogumi can defeat 3 other officers all at once than those 3 officers don't deserve to be officers or the guy applying deserves to be much higher rank....

The challenge for Koshogumi is against Samurai and Churo ranks. Officers would only participate under the condition that we did not have enough samurai/churo available.

Also, the rank of Koshogumi is skill based. It has nothing to do with leadership and administrative ability. I'd rather have competent leaders than skillful ones.  Thankfully, all of my officers are some of the most skillful samurai in this clan, so this wouldn't be a problem anyways. There is not a single samurai in NA who could best three of my officers at once.  :wink:

Try using the same weapons we use, if you want the same difficulty we have when facing each other.

A lot of clans use a bunch of OP weapons, purely because they are OP lol. We used the gimped stuff, because it's awesome :P

I'm probably the only person in NA using the hafted blade right now. It isn't a great weapon, but it looks cool, and I do fine with it.

I mean we already understand that longswords are better than katanas, and a lot of armors out spec strange armor, etc. And that ranged and throwing demolishes us lol. We just picked a theme and roll with it. I can beat myself with European weapons and armor too, doesn't make me better than myself.  :wink:

Would be really cool to start seeing more theme based clans though. When I was a noob I imagined that Chaos would be a bunch of barbarian looking dudes with mainly axes.

Also on the katana, would you not say that a longsword is better than a katana in most cases? If it is better, then why does the katana cost 150% the price of a longsword? Steep price to pay for something that can get out-ranged by a one-hander. I won't even start on the wakizashi's cost efficiency.

Let's not forget how the yumi's projectile speed is slow enough to catch the arrow in midair. Which contradicts physics entirely. The single factor that should make one bow do more damage than the next, is projectile speed. Nothing else. There really is no good excuse for the yumi, imo.

But yeah :P katana is fun and awesome, just there are cheaper and better weapons.

There, I said it.

Half of them aren't even being used, and the names are so unfamiliar that I don't think most people can tell one from the other, anyway. In my opinion we should cut it down to 5-6 ranks. Something like:

- Leader
- Senior officers (diplomat, council, landowners, ect)
- Officers
- Senior samurai
- Samurai
- Recruits

Would be better. Recruits would be promoted to samurai after getting set up in strat and getting a recommendation. Samurai would be promoted to sr. samurai after completing the lotus challenge (which we still haven't had anyone do, including officers). Then the officers and sr. officers would be picked by the shogun.

These are just place-holder names, but you get my point. We'd have people in pretty much every rank, with most of them being samurai, which is an easily recognizable mid-tier rank - instead of a bunch of ashigaru and koyakunin and ect.

I do like the special titles though. Maybe we could do one for the red lotus challenge, instead of a rank, since I'm really doubting that many (or any) people will complete it. We could also do a 'yojimbo' rank or something for the shogun's bodyguards, like how TKoV and Hospitaller have kingsguards.

I dunno, just a thought.

To be fair, Mori's one of the best samurai around. And anyway, if it's that easy for them they'd probably deserve the promotion, right?

It just seems to me that it would be better to streamline the lower ranks into more representative groups. 'Recruits' are noobs that can barely block, 'samurai' are decent players that mostly break even, and 'sr. samurai' are good players that are credit to team. By beating other samurai 3 times in a row, they're differentiating themselves from the group and showing that they're more skilled than those other samurai. If that's not enough, you could add something like what the ninja clan has for their requirements - a screenshot of you in the top 3 of your team with 7 kills or top 1 with 15 kills.

I will also add that multiple hospitaller officers (including Peppovitch) told me personally that we could expect non-hostility from them. A man is nothing if not his word, and the hospitallers have broken theirs. I do not appreciate that and have lost a lot of respect for them. I am even more insulted that they would simply attack my fief without ever speaking to me or messaging ME about it. This action speaks nothing but betrayal. It is no surprise that Red Lotus would be betrayed the moment I turned my back. Such shame. Such dishonor.

However, it is interesting that we are still offered land, in spite of it being stolen from us. Not asked for, not negotiated for, not even the courtesy to personally message the shogun what the hospitalizes intentions are, the fief was simply stolen. 

Land can easily be restored, honor can not.

I would have been more than happy to join your TS and discuss diplomatics with hospitallers, if you had only taken the fief and only because of the reasons you mentioned, however, you are also attacking unarmed, non-threatening RL members. There is absolutely no excuse for this. I will allow your reply before coming to any ultimate conclusion.

This is why it is important to have officers who can maintain the clan in the absence of its leader. Unfortunately, I was unable to properly establish and prepare such officers before my leave. Well again, I'm sorry I've been away, and will continue to be away for some time. I have a lot of stuff to take care of, to speak simply.

Earthdforce, go ahead and give Ohayashi rank 10 as well, we kinda need a leader on at all times and if you and Mori aren't active, I think Ohayashi would be the next best choice.

On another note, all of those who wish to leave the clan, have my blessings to do so. I don't want to keep people from having fun just because I expect them to be loyal lol. Go ahead and play the game the way you guys want to and with whatever clans you want to. When I return I may or may not resurrect the Red Lotus, it will depend on how many members I have.

I started this clan with Mori and myself. Then the first two people I recruited were Zylorage and Muki, personal friends of mine whom I had spoken to for a long time about making this clan. It appears all of the founders of this clan have left or become inactive. When I return, it will be heavy on my heart to continue this clan without those who helped me create it. I will only do this if those who are currently loyal to this clan expect to be so for a long time. Otherwise we are all wasting our time and burdoning ourselves with gimped weapons and armor.

In the even that this clan does fall apart before my return, I will likely start a new clan all together, for those who are interested. A more heavily armed knightly order that is bound to gods of its own. Whatever happens, I hope I can still play with all of my friends, with or without sharing banners.

And our numbers dwindle even further. Apologies for my absence, it's just getting to the point where I start up the game, Spawn, and find myself thinking or even saying out loud "I don't wanna play this." and then play a few rounds and shut the game down. I made this "issue" (if that's what we'd like to call this) known to Kimiko prior to my absence, and they understood.

I'm sad to see the clan kinda falling apart, but having been part of larger clans and having the exact same thing happen, I understand. I just hope that when Kimiko finishes whatever pressing issues they have, there'll be something to come back to. If not, it's been fun playing with you guys while it lasted :D. I'll still be around until we're formally disbanded, so hopefully that'll be for a while yet.

I didn't quit, I'm awaiting the patch chadz will release specifically for smokers allowing them to keep their multi and go spec for a smoke break once every like 15-30 minutes.

This is most depressing to read. We cannot be simply defeated by lack of members. Everything goes through this and we must keep our goal in mind. UNITE ALL SAMURAI ACROSS THE LAND. Maybe we could broaden our scope slightly and adjust to uniting all Asian Gear Wearers (Mongols included). I will not let this defeat us, we must stand strong and never lose faith.

Also, that Hospitaller attack was BS but when you get back i'll elaborate more. STEAM ME and hope all is well.

Sorry for assuming then Mori, I just saw that you had "Faction: Ronin" instead of "Faction: Red Lotus" so that lead me to believe you resigned x.X

As for steam, I can't install it on here because this isn't my computer lolz. Everyone in my family has technophobia and are very skeptical of me touching their computers fearing I will infest them with nasty scary viruses. Ironically, they all come to me when they need anything fixed anyways x.X.

But yeah, I understand when someone doesn't want to play, I found myself not wanting to play almost every time I got on as well. It just felt more like a chore than a game lol. I spent more time with diplomatics and recruitment and clan business than actually playing the game. I'm definitely prepared to reorganize everything so that we can manage the clan more efficiently and all play together. If that means less strategus, then so be it.

Oh, and I hope someone is keeping up with diplomacy and strategus >.>
Gotta know whats going on around the map before we can make any major moves. If nothing else, at least we should be crafting.

As a relatively new member I am not as involved as some of you, but I know a few things. first, I have only encountered two players above the rank of samurai which is frustrating and somewhat discouraging, second, i would dearly love to see this clan prosper, as I love the Bushido code and am a personal student of Jujitsu (in the traditional Japanese style), third, my strategus character was attacked in transit with a force of 4 soldiers and a lot of gold and goods by a hospitaller.  This shocked me, as I had heard of no war or disagreements at this point.  I would like to express my condolences for the loss of the some 1500 gold and 5 katanas that I was delivering to the clan leaders, and assure you that I will remain loyal on strategus, endeavouring to return from my desert exile, and to the Shogun, for better or worse.

You were attacked by SilverMane, correct? I can only hope Peppovitch has dealt with that little situation, and I (or our Shogun) will be sure to talk to him about making sure everything is replaced.

And a better contest of skill would be to use the exact same weapons, and relatively the same armor. Everyone knows the lolsword beats the katana. I have no problem with natives challenging samurai lol, it is just that they pretend that it is an even fight when one side is using gimped weapons and the other uses the most ridiculously easy weapons in the game. A one handed weapon can out-range a katana with relatively the same speed lol. I won't even start on how gimped the wakizashi or the yumi bow is.

Besides this game is bias against our superior combat reflexes and acrobatics:

A clan dies when the members let it die.

Ninjas is a clan that has scratched the bottom so many times only to rise again. I remember back in fall 2010 when there were only 2 ninjas active in the ninja clan. We had both joined within 2 weeks. We stuck around, and suddenly Thomek, our notoriously absent leader returned and then old members started to come back and we started getting new recruits aswell. This fall we had fairly few members and people were preaching that ninjas are dead(again) and then suddenly we started getting new recruits and a few old members returned. This cycle has happened many times, and will happen again.

Ninjas going strong since June 2010  :wink:

Just some relatively old wisdom from a stubborn ninja.

Kimi's been MIA for the past 2 or 3 weeks. That's what led to this whole uncertainty debacle in the first place. With me and Mori not really wanting to take the reigns, and Earth'd trying to and then not wanting too (I... guess?), that leaves RL in a sort of Limbo where we're not officially dead, but we're not really active and doing anything.

Kimi predicted they'd be back sometime last week... or was it the week before? I don't remember, but essentially, they're tied up in Real World matters. I've personally been playing other games because I needed a break from this game, or it'd get to the point that instead of saying "Why did I start this up", I'd be saying "Why is this even installed on my computer?". I get on every once in a while, but nowhere near the amount of time I used to play it.

Anyway, seeing as the Clan is in Limbo, and no one's really stepping up to lead it (to where, who knows), Your options at this point are to keep on truckin along waiting for kimi to come back, play something else (and continue to wait), or find a new clan. *Shrug*

Also, Lemmy, you're a hamster up a gay mans ass. You shut your whore mouth!

i just think it's funny hearing we get new recruits and then never seeing them. if you need a leader someone has to step up to the plate or send all the new people to me and i'll tell them what to do. if we don't try something then the clan is dead which means everyone gave up because one person isn't here. 1. This was his clan that he wanted to start and lead
2. He's the only one that was "in a position of authority" in the clan who actually had the motivation to do any of the leading. Like I previously said, the rest of us didn't want to/didn't care to. No motivation to keep a clan alive = dying/dead clan.

I find this fairly interesting. I find the concept of "leader" in small clans humorous. Even though, that's what I am myself. In a small clan everyone knows eachother and the dynamic is more like a group of friends, rather than a hierarchy. You do not need a leader to tell you what to do, just have fun within the rules of the clan. Want to play together? Do it. You don't need a leader for it. If it takes some organizing, then organize.

Everyone sitting waiting to be told what to do and then leaving if you're not told what to do is silly. But then again, ninjas has a core group of loyal members who enjoy playing with ninjas but also don't mind being alone from time to time. If you require constant presense from your clanmates, then choosing a bigger clan is smarter.

First off, Tanken, I already has :D. I'm itching to play with my War spear again, if anything, though.

Secondly, I've come to a conclusion as to why I personally don't really play/enjoy this game anymore. (This will help me in responding to Khorin.) The thing that I've come to realize about why I don't enjoy CRPG anymore is because of one or two simple things. Goals and Progression. After spending 1500+ hours on this mod alone, I feel I can safely say I've "done my time." I've done almost every "serious" build, I've got a fair number of heirlooms, I'm Gen 19 (would probably be at LEAST high 20's had I not respecced so much, literally throwing xp out of the window), and while it Is fun from time to time to hop on and play with all the people I've come to enjoy playing with over the past year and a half or so, there's just not much left for Crpg to offer. Yeah, it's got an extremely unique melee combat system, but again, I've played with it so much. Pertaining to progression, I can buy or trade for anything I want, so there's no sense of accomplishment, no goals to work towards that I'd care about (I don't care about trying to get a full loomed set of armor or a loom of every weapon, etc..). basically, it's just stale, for me, at this point.

After reading that back to myself, I don't know if that answers Khorin from my personal perspective, but what I'm getting at is that Kimiko, having the enthusiasm of running this clan and actively trying to get us to all meet up on the duel server, join battles and (attempt) to roll the server, etc..., in that aspect, he is very much the "leader" that we need. As it stands, the rest of us are just likely to hop on, play a few rounds, maybe go into TS to see if anyone's on, maybe join them for a little bit, but that's about it.

TL;DR - I like to ramble a lot about nothing of importance. Who knows if any of this is relevant.

This was my first large clan, and I have learned a lot from it. I want to thank all of you who put in effort towards the Red Lotus, whether you be within the clan or not. None of you are obligated to continue being loyal to this clan. You have all done your part, and I expect nothing more. No one is responsible for the undoing of this clan aside from myself. I regret that I simply did not have enough time to better organize and fortify the Red Lotus. We were far from prepared for such an inconvenience as the absence of the shogun.

Your post sounds like are calling it quits, when I've seen groups of weebos fighting together recently, which was a nice change from random solo ninjas.

And I know how to manage my officers. The main issue was that the majority of officers lacked interest in leading. It had nothing to do with trust.

Consider the likeliness of finding strong leaders among the crpg community who aren't already in a clan, who want to roleplay a samurai, who have the time to dedicate to clan, and who actually want to do all of the work. Not very likely. In fact, none of my officers actually wanted major responsibilities (which I understood and am fine with). Anything they did, was more or less a personal favor to me, as friends. Of course some of them went above and beyond and actively attempted to help organize the clan, and I thank them for their efforts. Anyways I appreciate you trying to educate me on what I should have learned, but I'm not sure we share the same perspective on the matter.

And about your no zerg policy, if that works for you then fine. However, I accept any person who wishes to join me and my friends in roleplaying a samurai and is willing to do so in sync with our rules. I'm not concerned with skill, they can be trained. I'm not concerned with how active they play, it is just a game, they have lives. The only things I'd be concerned with is their attitudes in teamspeak and their maturity. Even with such low standards, I believe the Red Lotus had an excellent roster by crpg standards.


To Muki: Signing up for a battle and attacking you on the map are two completely different things and have difference consequences. You do not start a war when you sign up for a battle, you do start a war when you attack someone on the map directly. Of course it doesn't really matter now anyways...but you as a diplomat and someone very familiar with strategus should know better. I'll assume you attempted to approach us diplomatically before attacking and I'll leave it at that.

lol yesterday I played with RedArrows, Trex, Vaynes, and Miyu. My internet is wifi now though x.X. And my ping would fucking jump to 500 sometimes lol. But when its not acting up, it stays around 60. Which is double my old ping...but eh...still playable.

Joined the chat as "Tax_Collector" to ask about where the new "taxes" are going. If you haven't heard, if you try to sell anything in the marketplace now, you get a 5% tax. Which means, selling a loompoint for 650k, means you get 617k or so...instead of the 650k. So to get 650k, you have to sell the loompoint for over 680k (which no one will buy). The only people being taxed are the sellers, not the buyers. Until every buyer in the game understands that the sellers are being taxed, they will assume the sellers are just being ridiculously greedy with their prices and refuse to buy from them. I think it would make more sense to tax the buyers, or to tax them both at 2.5%, to minimize confusion. But anyways nothing I say makes a difference  :rolleyes:.

I then decided to ask about alternate accounts, since you can now transfer gold to them. (Not from them). I wanted to know what exactly the issue is on being able to play on alternate accounts without penalty. The time and effort you put into an alt to get a loom or a lot of gold, is identical to the time and effort you would put into a main. The only reason a person would use an alternate account is to be able to use a different play style without jeopardizing their main account. So why are we penalized for it by not being allowed to use the market? Using the market is a big part of crpg. They say because of strategus, but I wanted a little more understanding on the matter...

I would like to be able to dedicate my main to this clan, and be able to freely use my alts for when I want to do something other than cavalry heavy armored samurai tank spammer lolz. So I asked meow about it  :|

LOL again with this. Listen, I'm on every single day, and have been since I got back. Which has been a month or so. I'm in TS practically 24/7. I only get off when I go to sleep, sometimes. This is twice "members" are talking about how inactive I am lol. I haven't seen an officer in TS in days. I'm not going to watch every server to see who is on at what time...that is what TS is for. If you don't see me its probably cuz I'm on an alt or in a different server, which had you been in TS, you would know.  :rolleyes:

Finally saw an officer in game today, they couldn't be bothered to join TS which I've been in all day. But they could be bothered to talk about how I'm on alts all the time. Interesting.

I'm demoting myself to the rank Samurai or equivalent. Mori, Earthdforce, Redarrows, and Vaynes, (the only current officers) may now take all leadership responsibility for RL.

For further explanation, you can find me in TS almost any time of the day. No I'm not GTXting lol, it is something I've considered and thought about. It is only "sudden" to some of you because we have all, for the most part, lost touch. Anyways join TS sometime if you wish to talk about it. There is much to discuss concerning the future of RL.

Alright so this is what's happening. Earth just told me that he was gonna be a casual player now (which is perfectly fine) but that means he won't be able to take a leadership role. Since Mori and Redarrows are still technically officers i'm going to wait 3 days for them to get in ts with me so we can discuss who will be leading RL. If neither come then leadership will fall to me by default.
i will be in ts late evenings around 10pm EST. those are also my usual playing hours so non-officers please join as well to fight with me :D

Feel free to rock the banner and come chill in TS you can sometimes catch us there! Just poke an admin saying you need permissions to access Red Lotus.
& if you're serious about joining you can go ahead and apply for a name change and put the RL tags in your name :D

First rank is Ashigaru (you can get new ranks/titles easily just ask about them) if you feel the need to add a title to your name aswell (added badasss style points)

ATM we're using the banner with yellow background and pink/red stripes, no need to download a banner pack the new crpg updates kind of made banner packs obsolete now you have to buy a banner slot for your clan and what not we don't have one atm so we just rock the native banner, yellow background red/pink stripes aha :P

Hi I would like to join the Red Lotus Clan. Mike and Oda recruited me. I have a currently 18:9 build, have a horse archer (once a horse is bought) setup, a pure archer setup with the Yumi and Bodkin Arrows. Along with a full Heavy Strange armor with Katana and Long Hafted Blade. I am a more defensive player, due to my playing of DTV. Have all heavy and light strange armor sets, and most of the Japanease weapons (all but Nodachi). My Steam is Caboose, with the picture of a Halo 1 blue guy (many different Caboose's). My in game name is MegaSoldier.

You guys are both free to put the RL_ tag infront of your name, try to pop in to the TS at some point and I'll get you guys permissions so you can move about the channels.
