After first of all seeing my sword pass right through an enemy and teamkill an ally standing on the other side and then a few seconds later have a katana ignore my ready block, I have to reluctantly conclude combat is now too broken to be enjoyable, so I'm suspending playing as Andamaglas until this all gets fixed. Something is terribly wrong if you read the stuff in the "Murmurings of Discontent" thread on the Game Balance sub forum. If the outcomes of my actions in a fight are just going to be random, there's no point to it.

I think you'd prefer to have my connection that makes you hardly be able to get on web browsers. When you got that, whether you get hits or not turns secondary.

Dude is right, the game no longer responds right. It used to just fine before the big patch, now I seem to have much more lag and frame freezes. Sometimes blocks and hits don't work right. It has gotten so bad I switched from polearms to 1 hander with shield.

There have been lots of lagspikes, with the ping of random people going from the normal value to 300-400. The servers are lagging badly.

I've never had any of these problems, it might have something to do with my own graftics (and other stuff that could make your PC less respondent) setting. Try with lower settings....

Both on EU and NA I have a ping constantly between 180 and 300, I'd like to see you guys play with that all day everyday.

I've been having similar issues for a while now also. My ping has been fine. I do not believe it has anything to do with internet connection.
My weapon will go straight through people occasionally. I'd say its most noticeable with the overhand strike.

Also, in addition to fucked up hitboxes, the game has been reluctant to accept commands from my mouse. I have to spam LMB or RMB sometimes for shit to work.

the thing i find most annoying is the passing through enemys, as it puts you in trouble most of the time, as for the other issues, it's only rare it happens to me, not something that makes it unenjoyable anyway...

I've had 3+ minute long fights in the NA 100 when it was full and never had a missed block or missed strike. Sometimes I would think a swing should hit but in actuality it was off by a bit.

1. You hold a correct block, but the enemy weapon ignores it and hits you (not cruhsthorugh, happens with swords and axes and stuff)
2. You press LMB, but it holds the attack instead of releasing and attacking
that is the 2 things that annoy me the most

Again, I have been playing crpg since it was first released and have never had these problems...so it isnt the games fault, it is your connection or system.

No, he is not the only one having these problems. And ive been playing since the beginning too, but only recently has these problems occurred. After .212 i believe.

#2. happen enough for me to notice it, it's annoying.
#1. Happen less often and i can't ever tell if i blocked too late, it's weird. I can see the animation starting to block the correct way but i get hit before it seems to finish.
I've also had some other issue like hitting my opponent through his shield when his facing me and back pedalling without hitting me back, but it happened only once or twice

I think that official Eu servers are having some connections issues. Eu 4 and Shogunate_cRPG work fine for me.

my attack passing right through enemy and not touching him happens sometimes and it is not lagg related or connectivity. On a battle I approached an enemy from behind and sliced clean through him, my weapon did not even touch him, just passed through him like he wasn't there.
I wasn't too far, I was right behind him and I know it is not connectivity because the allies that enemy was going after saw it too. They were as surprised as me. Think one of the allies was Bear.

I've just been on EU4, with very small numbers of players and it's got all the same problems, it's just that the speed there is so ridiculously fast that you don't spot them as easily.

Yeah i switched to eu4 a few days ago hoping it would not lag, it did lag just like the others.

Most irritating glitch for me is the ghost blocking... See enemy do overhead swing, quickly do upblock, enemy swings and you're dead. Huh wait didn't I just block that hit? Not according to the person who killed me, but on my screen I had my weapon held high above my head ready to recieve the overhead.
Before these comments come in(they usually do).
I'm not talking about crushthrough weapons, although it happens with barmace alot it's mostly 2h swords that go through my blocks, sometimes side blocks but mostly overhead ones.(Enemies attack does not register your block atall).
Happens in circumstances where the enemy is directly infront of me and not strafing to the side or trying to flank me.
Another issue which is less common.. Sometimes when I ride my horse around and engage in fast paced lance action vs other horses, sometimes it feels like the server can't keep up with my characters movements and sometimes I lose all control of my character and it kind of teleports and stutters for about 5 seconds in which time I could be killed or ride into an enemy zerg and won't be able to do anything about it.

I have the same issue (not frequently though). I can even stop touching the mouse and make the character run around, it won't release the attack. This happens to me on Native multiplayers as well. I had reported this on the taleworlds bug forum but no one replied to my my thread:

Like you, I also have the problem of blocking in the correct directions and having the attacker going through anyway. With all the superAGI characters in cRPG, I thought this was due to the comparative slowliness of my character (i.e. they could swing faster than I can prepare the block) but sometimes I really wonder because the blocking seems OK.
I have an issue with the throwing axes too: they seem to hit correctly but just before impact they stop in the air and just disappear.

overhead attack for my 1h sword just not making hit every time, even it go right trough enemy, and i have ping 40-70

I did some testing too and it really seems that it's the games fault. I've encountered:
1) Horse teleporting.
2) Throwing weapons vanishing midair before they hit.
3) Ghost blocks.

Horse teleporting is the reason why I am unable to use horse faster than 42 speed. If I ride Palfrey or Rouncey horse on their full speed its animation get fucked up.

I think everyone can test this: Use a long maul / ex Boulder on a stick and do overhead strikes on a teammate,
of course NOONE would EVER do that but we accidently did it with 3 people trying to hit one.
It took about 15 tries (all 3 where constantly striking) to score one hit while the top of the weapon always went directly through the target.

2) has always been there. Happens when the server is getting full :/ (However never experienced it on siege )

Have you guys done any of these same tests in Native multiplayer, to find whether the problem is in CRPG or instead with Warband's netcode?

# 2 I experience quite often to notice. It is also the case for throwing weapons especially when you spam quick trowing weapons like shurikens.
# 1 Rare but still happens. And I can swear that my position was faced directly to opponent and animation of blocked side was correct.
Fisrt I though that it is me (connection issue) but then saw this thread. I just back from Native where I did not experience such problems.
I still think that this problems conected to ingame lags but on the server side.

Horse teleporting when they bash someone is an old issue and exists in Native since some old patch.

That's funny, even with my 0 melee wpf horse archer I can block and counter attack against alot of agi builds with the proper footwork. If you have over 100 wpf and you can't counter attack an Agi spammer it's because your reactions aren't quick enough.

Spam happens because you don't attack back, have a faulty build or just plain suck.

tl;dr you suck and don't know what you're talking about.
1) Hybrids are the optimum thing right now, after the WPF nerf. It no longer pays off to be dedicated anything, except maybe archer.
2) Learn to play, no one can spam you, regardless of agi.

I can submit that i also have these problems. Initially i thought it was the server i was on (other Kg members were discussing the weird hitboxes) but upon switching servers it continues to happen. Eventually you get used to swinging at the air because thats where you need to swing to hit the person

I can manual block, chamberblock, and use footwork, don't blame it on that. the servers are stuffed with insane speed spammers, that's all that I want to point out. I recen,tly made a pure 2h character, wich has 149 2h prof now, and he can kill anything without blocking.

Yes, I've learned the lesson that before you start whining, or start complaining, that you have to play the class itself, and level it, to see what is really is like.
In this case spam is OP according to me

so... people think that agility build shows lack of skill and strength build where you kill that guy with one blow shows a skillful player.
boxing... a guy runs around guy with low stamina and high strength, and goes through his slow blocks and covers gaining points. high str guy has opportunity to end match with a couple of blows. is it unfair? i don't think so, because it's old sport, so if something's unfair, they would see it

there are few spamers that are really quick, others are ok... and thats way if needs to go to 3, because ef everyone else who dont reley on agi

before retirement i had a balanced katana, 12/27 pure 2h build.
I couldnt spam shit, so stop complaining and listen to this:

Katana is a bad spam weapon. Try the longsword/bastard sword

Katana is good spam weapon, but you have to note that most successful spamming happens if you spam just out of range of your opponent.

thats been the case since pre patch my friend, the new model with the animations has just meant that its even harder to to hit people with this weapons.

How the hell can you block 2-3 different attacks per second with 200ms- 1000ms (typical Eu1 server delays) delays??

I find shields to be quite easymode, and yes i do possess a so called turtle. Not nearly 'max' level yet, but i still..people die :)
Dont really have to block much as a shielder, feinting is just as easy on 1h as 2h.

That's the whole point of the thread, to try and drag it back on topic. People are executing good manual blocks but they're just not working: the enemy's blow passes right through your sword/polearm and gets you anyway - and occasionally you know you've made the wrong block but it still saves you.

Back to the topic. I can't play since two weeks, my ping is always at 100. No matter what I do. But even with a normal ping I had these problems back then, this sucks bigtime.
