ps.: WE NEED THIS VOICE!!
-
Rule #1 - Always take the shot.
Doing this would be the same as removing archery from the game imo.
-
Your poll is counter productive to your cause. Also, we already have a "watch your aim" yell. We could however use a "Watch where you swing that" yell. Holding up a shield to the enemy must be a secret way of saying "come slice me in the back"

Yes, right. But:
We could however use a "Watch where you swing that" yell.
+1 to that!!
Will be the next poll.

Archers dont have to shot into a 2v1 or in a 1v1 fight. Most of them hit u in the back = leaving u stunned and open to everything. They can just find another target. So this shout could be needed .
-
How about just adding a shout "DON'T"
This way you could just scream "Don't!" "Shoot!" :D
Or maybe a "negative effect" voice command. Once you use it, the next voice command you make will be the opposite. "Shoot" would become "Don't shoot!" and "Charge" would become "Retreat!" etc.
This way players don't need to learn tons of new voice command key combos to hit.

If anything, we obviously need Wololo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukgxZ8pEApo&feature=related) as a voice command...
-
What is really needed is a STFU yell for all the voice spamming.

QMV
-
They need to voice some of the other commands like "No", "Yes", "Hello" and the likes.
In the case of archers shooting into melee they're usually just trying to help and I'll try and not get into their line of fire while fighting and let them help me rather than trying to dance around the enemy to get the kill.
I'd also rather not 'qmv' when it can be helpful if a group of enemies is flanking and someone shouts out "incoming infantry from behind" or just "incoming infantry". Although half the time team mates aren't aware of where the main horde is let alone what they're teammates are doing.

must have...

i think most of the voice commands are just used for spamming -.- and to the archer stuff: an archer should know if he is good enough to hit the enemie or the mates. if he isnt he should not shoot into melee. if there are good archers its great when they help you. they can also assist you or even save your ass.
-
They already have a voice for this.
Here's the path to reach it:
YWATCHTHEFRIENDLYFIRE Enter.
-
I imagine we'll get this added right after they add one that says "STOP SIDE SWINGING".
Which will be added right after, "STOP RUNNING ME OVER WITH YOUR HORSE" or "IF YOU'RE GOING TO RUN ME OVER, AT LEAST HIT THE ENEMY WHILE YOU'RE AT IT".
Really archers are the least of my worries.
-
I'd really love it if they added some kind of taunts, or something like "AARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH", would be pretty wicked when everyone is lined up in a shield wall...

What we need is more generic commands, not specific ones.
When you want to ask if someone needs help
YOU: "You need help?"
FRIEND: "No!"
When you need help
YOU: "Help!"
When a teamate is hurting you
YOU: "That hurt!".
FRIEND: "Sorry!"
We could also make it more interesting by having several voices for the same command and picking a random one every time.
When you want to ask if someone needs help
YOU: "You need help?", "Let me help you"
FRIEND: "No!", "Noooooooo!", "Fuck off!"
When you need help
YOU: "Help!", "I'm dying!", "Someone help me please!"
When a teamate is hurting you
YOU: "That hurt!", "Ouch!", "Don't do that again!"
FRIEND: "Sorry!", "Sorry, equipment screen"
You get the point? I think this would be awesome but yet so simple.

What would it do to have such a yell?
Do you think that would stop us archers from shooting into melee?
And by the way, I see far more people hitting teammates in melee fights than archers hitting teammates when they shoot into melee
-
+1 to sass. We need more sassing.
I would love "YOUR DOING IT WRONG", "SWING MORE FOOL" "HA! You call that a sword, this, is a sword." "Get off your horse, girly man!" "Your so ugly your mother must have mated with chadz!"
-
Get those sounds from Unreal Tournament: "Headshot!"

But then, getting hit by an arrow is just so much worse:
1. Arrowstun.
It's massive.
2. It's unexpected.
If you have some guy with a GLB next to you sideswinging like a maniac you can just take a step back in anticipation of some reckless swings. Same thing with enemy ranged. If I'm in a melee fight where enemy archers are shooting at me, I play more defensively and keep greater range to try and compensate for eventual stray arrows. (+ I usually try to dodge them as well ofc.)
Noone expects a friendly arrow in their back, making them much more deadly.
3. Most of the time, it's just unnecessary.
I'm a melee fighter and so melee fighting is what I do. Unless I'm hugely outnumbered, I can handle the people swinging at me no problems. If you want to help (because that's what you want to do right? Not just padding your K:D...) then shoot the bloody ranged and cav instead who are the guys I really can't handle.
I've had a lot of situations where I've been ganging people and still getting shot by the damn friendly ranged... who then (ofc) proceed to argue that they did nothing wrong when they got you killed.
Also, regarding the number of teamhits. You have to note that apart from arrows being much more annoying to get hit by than friendly melee swings, arrows are also often taken less note of. A friendly arrow more often gets you killed rather than killing you outright in comparison to melee swings = doesn't show up on the scoreboard. Also, that I get less apologies from ranged (because I do get less apologies from them in general, probably due to this "elusive" nature of ranged teamhits), also adds to the fact that less ranged teamhits show up in the chat which is really where you get your perception of the amount of them.
(Why do you shoot into melee anyway? 'Cause of bored?)
(Also, to clarify: Ofc there are different "quality" shots, some archers are really good at helping you out in melee, but then they usually do so by shooting the guy(s) from rather close range when he's got some distance. That's a whole different thing, what I'm barking at here are the archers who lob their arrows into the middle of a melee "dance".)

I always found a certain voice command was needed back when i played and played as archer.
''WATCH OUT BEHIND YOU! THERE'S FUCKIN 5 LOLSTABBERS AND 4 WEABOO SAMURAIS AND 1 PIRATE HOOKER COMING UP FROM BEHIND!!! FLEE FOR YOUR LIFE!''
Especially on that map where your team was camping the boat with lots of lots of lots of ice around and the Nord town with boats as well.

I am for it
@oftop: William are you still playing or just trolling forum all day ;)

Who did the voices for this mod anyway? I'll never get over how ridiculous and hilarious they sound.
