This is an Empire.  We present two choices to our enemies, the chalice and the sword.  You may join our table, or you may die.  Obedience is all that is required.

Membership:

Membership in the Imperium provides the following benefits:
1. Aid and protection against outside threats
2. Immunity from danger from members of the Imperium
3. Protection for trade within the borders of the Imperium
4. Assurance of mercenaries in defense
5. Assistance in expansion when the size of your faction grows or the Imperium's territory grows

Membership in the Imperium carries the following responsiblities:
1. You must agree to allow trade within your territory. Tariffs or Tolls may be imposed, but they must be reasonable. Reasonable polls will be decided by the Imperium's economic council.
2. You must agree to abide by the Imperium's diplomacy. To survive as one, we must act as one. Control of the diplomacy of the Imperium is done through the Imperium's ruling council.
3. You must agree to abide by the basic standards of behavior of the Imperium. If a member of the Imperium behaves poorly, it reflects on the whole. These standards are:

Do not troll to the point at which it seriously harms the fun of others
Do not cheat people on the market, or refuse to help those who made bad trades with you by accident.
Do not troll new players who need help.

Government of the Imperium
The Imperium has two branches, the Economic and the Ruling. The Economic Council is composed of one delegate from each member group's fief. Larger factions will have a larger representation on the Economic Council. It is responsible for trade agreements, trade regulations and the general taxation of the Imperium to support the central army.

The Ruling Council is composed of the Emperor, who presides over the council, and a delegate from each member faction. This council is responsible for the diplomatic and overall ruling of the council, as well as approving member applications. Applications to join must be approved by an 80% vote of the council. Each faction is given one veto, ever, to overrule that vote. Note that this is not for individual player applications, but for factions joining the Imperium as a whole. Once a faction has joined, it is given the right to send a member to this council, regardless of land ownership or former status. The ruling council has the ability to call the member factions to war, and decides how many troops to ask for from each member group.

Players may still join member factions without any interference, and there is no interference in cRPG play in general, excepting only the mild standards of conduct.

To apply, provide the following to one of the diplomats of the Imperium, and it shall be placed before the Ruling Council in their private forum.

As a fighter

To join as a fighter, simply find the name of someone you'd like to fight with on the contact information, and talk to them.  All leaders are free to individually recruit as they see fit.  Fighters may advance to positions of leadership, or branch out to positions of vassalage should they develop the ability or inclination.

Ranks

The Empire is lead by an Emperor.  Beneath him are Kings and Warlords, Chieftains and Soldiers.  Rank as a title matters little in the Empire, it is station which holds importance.  There are two types of relationship, that of vassal and that of service.  A soldier in the Imperial Guard owes his service to the Emperor himself, but he is outranked by those who owe vassalage to the Emperor.  While a general might be a peer of the realm's closest friend, his vassals and his lord are more akin to family.  The system is complex, but in times of war, the chain of command is easily simplified and ordered to best ensure the Empire's success.

Ive really been wanting to make a group or join one for strategus i am trying to make a Strategus clan But right now it is only me and 2-3 other people Do you have A position that could work for me? btw the clan i am trying to make is a clan of scouts (People to run fast / and or people to ride horses). Yup, I got you on the list Earth.  Feel free to stop by TS, either Duc or I should be around.  Don't mind the locals, they generally don't bite.

Xarcenian, Missile Cav in general are always nice to have around.  Especially in combination with other missile cav, its a powerful tool.  It'll take a bit to get money for it in strat, but we can definitely have some fun in cRPG, I think.

Also, I'd like to welcome Tod_und_Verzweiflung to the Imperium.  He is one of the pioneers in the grand sport of gluefactory ( the rules of which are presented below) and an all-around skilled archer.

Gluefactory Rules:

To play Gluefactory you require the following things:
1 Enemy Horseman who is annoying
2 or more players who are capable of killing said horse

The rules are simple.  When the round starts, all players should salute one another, then group up to hunt their target.  Work to draw the rider in to you, either feigning weakness, shooting to draw his aggro, or hiding somewhere he will likely go.  When the horse is close enough, light it up with ranged, pikes, swords, whatever you can hit it with.  Killing the rider is good, but not necessary.  The goal is to kill the horse.  The person who does so gets 5 points.

You can then work on other enemy horses.  Additional horses are worth 1 point per kill.

In the event of a dispute over who finished the horse, split the points.  But be honest.  Gluefactory is a noble sport, and requires good sportsmanship to have fun.

The winner of the game everyone who isn't Amatsuka an annoying cav on the enemy team.

We kinda have multiple themes.  Its the whole empire thing.  We have Sarmacian raiders, Pirates, Mercenaries, Imperial Soldiers.  There is no unified central theme, because every new group brings with it its own theme.

Though we do seem to have a surprising number in black lamellar with crossbows.

I completly agree but we shouldn't we have an underlying color to our theme. So we can wear all different armors but of the same color scheme. Red and shiny doesnt seem to bad actually, seems to be red shiny shit for all nations.

I think that we probably will continue to not have any required armor types or colors, but we may put together a dress uniform for special occasions and strat.  If someone wants to work on that, starting a thread for discussion on our forums with suggestions and polls and stuff would be awesome.

To clarify, the cake isn't real but the message with it was.  Let me know what song to link your name to on the memberlist.
Also, if anyone has titles or responsibilities they want added, or additional songs, feel free to post / pm those as well.

I don't know how involved Google docs spreadshit is or the depth of theprogram, but perhaps we can build it to have the purchasing spreadsheet mixed with heirlooms and pplayers armies and somehow mix it all together so we can individually update build our army knowing what everyone has at that moment in the week. Course this requires everyone update their crafting numbers and current cash. Theoretically possible as a Google doc.....but ill start with the army builder first. Any cool name suggestions for this chaotic tool?

Celtic knot or nord trim pattern round the outside of flag

Half and half or stripes in background for European.

And current sarmation symbol in center with the cup.

Or...the euro stripes form a cup shape in background


I dunno some thought on representing our many people.

Well considering that we've fought with/against you for a long time, and the fact that you've already insulted us 1000 times before, and we have long since been inured to them, I think a candidacy of 3 weeks is sufficient. Or, you could just bunk with the regulars, put the tags and banner on, and get your tail in game with the rest of us. I'll let you decide! :D

Horse Archery definitely improves throwing, if you are moving, but you won't see a change while standing still. With 3 HA, my galloping reticule is almost the same size as my standing still reticule (about horse sized from 10 feet away). It doesn't fix the randomization, and like I said the reticule is still the same size as a rouncey 10 feet away.

HA also adds to the wpf requirement for throwing, it adds something like 10, which is worth noting if you are cutting it close with your armor and powerthrow.

First, Pure mages are a pain in the ass to level. Early on, you blast shit to smithereens, but having grinded him up to lvl 20, it takes 4-7 spell casts to 1-3 arrow sneak attacks. Also, arrows are plentiful, wheras mana regens too god damn slowly. Gotta wait for the mod community to tweak magic.

Second, when will people come back to cRPG? WHEN WILL PEOPLE STOP PLAYING SKYRIM? Granted, I'm still playing it, but I take breaks for cRPG.

Be warned that the "generic" sidequests (Kill me this/fetch me that/get me to here safely) never will run out due to that weird little "Quest AI" that continually generates simple quests with a bunch of minor permutations to make them all feel different.

Kind of like Warband, where the nobles never stop coming up with minor things for you to take care of.

I'll be honest.  I used console to give myself 100 smithing on my smith character.  There is no way I am going to grind smithing in a single player game.

You could have gotten the mod to make arrows, and made 10 iron arrows per iron ingot and firewood like I did ;)

Actually... If he's able to get on TS while another member is on then that's saying something about his commitment... Or excessive luck... Either way accomplishing that feat should be auto-acceptance.

Honestly around this crowd it tends to be bolts, not arrows, Reinhardt.  That or heavy axes, or javs.  Or MW stones.  Good lord does HiresX have enough of those.  We only have a few arrows flying about.

Well we assume this clan is dead now since Braeden seems to have quit and the rest of the members are inactive, shame the clan died since we liked working with you guys but having 2 fiefs go to waste is something that shouldn't happen in strategus, we are gonna take the fiefs and on the off chance you get active again you can have them back.
