Too late period.
I like them a lot. Though, and just throwing this out there early on so it can be discredited by the third page, the second one looks a little minstrel-y to me.
Yamabusi: Highlander Models (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,145074.0.html)
Implement it on one condition Teenage mutant ninja turtle weps as well.
I am torn between their absolute beauty and the fact they would be several hundred years too early. We are talking late 15th century here at a minimum, though more realistically early 17th.
Some of the weapons and armour in this game is not to period already...
You can't, this armor only supports ONE(The one shown) skin type last I heard, so if you have another skin colour, it goes all wrong and looks complete garbage. The arms are a tanned white complexion on the armor while if you had an arab or a black in highland armor it would neither make sense nor look good. I say add some skin oriented clothes to keep up the roleplay, and have less african samurai french knights.
That is why it hasn't been added :S
african samurai french knights.Need moar of these.

Now I'm not a professional in Scottish history but I'm pretty sure the Kilt only appeared in the 16th and 17th century...this game is 12th -13th? Don't get me wrong it looks great but as a person who loves history I can't approve...like the add roman centurion armor...it's just silly...
12th - 13th century of what? is it christian time line, muslim or chinese time line?
damm, it's nothing, Calradia doesn't exist, stop your history bs in a fantasy world...
You realize Caldaria is based on History right? Each faction is a region in medieval history...Halberds, bucklers, milanese plate... We are already far away from a set timeperiod.

more like each faction is a whole different historical period.
I can see where your coming from. But it's not necessarily true. However the point made about milanese plate does suggest that highlander could be implemented....but if it is then why not add chinesse, korean, mongolian, aztec, classical era armors. it's just too much. The game does need more diversity I agree on that point, but i'd prefer more varietty styles on what is already implemeted.
Damn I'd like that. I. WANT. TO. BE. A. HIGHLANDER! :mrgreen:There can be only one. Sorry couldnt resist :D

This has been under discussion for months now, there have been several threads about this and the highlander swords. Why are the armours not implented yet?
They show skin, and the devs have supposedly said no armors can show skin. This is due to the fact that it looks a bit funky if you make the armor's skin one shade and the character's skin is a different shade. It would also be complicated to make female versions of armor that shows skin.
Scots didn't wear anything remotely close to this during medieval period. Kilts started being worn around 1680.
As long as we have flamberges, greatswords, bucklers, sidesword, espadas, gothic plate etc, i don't mind some authentic highlander-scottish armors, even if they are of late period. I don't think they would look as out of place as ashtray bucklers for example.Every item you mention there are about two centuries or more younger than these (otherwise beautiful) armors which falls into the Early Modern period.
Every item you mention there are about two centuries or more younger than these (otherwise beautiful) armors which falls into the Early Modern period.Probably more like mere 60-70 years if you take the dusk of full plate armours and the first acccounts of kilts being used (wiki states it's 16th century, this is pic is presumably 1630 http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e2/Scottish_mercenaries_in_the_Thirty_Years_War.jpg ). Broadsword appeared in the late 16th century, claymores not later than the 15th century afaik.
Even a fucking space suit wouldn't be out of place in current state of c-rpg.... and STILL they wont let me turn my characters skin blue!

I would like to see more well made armours added aswell.
And personally i think, any melee weapon and armor made before 17th century would fit well enough.
The timeperiods are just a pile of poo anyway these days. Add the first 2, they dont show bare skin and look kinda medieval ish.

ninja armour!

I LOL at the tard babies talking about this armor being out of period. We have shit from all over the damn spectrum. From like 800AD to 1600s. Especially with the new Black Armor that has been added. So anyone saying this is out of period needs to go back to school.
I'm sure I've seen a mod or two that use WSE to make armor normal, but change the skin with the character's skin.
Black characters would have black skin, not a mish-mash.
And I hate Kerrigan's blonde slut, too.
Meowlies, meow is the most beautiful man I've ever seen
