Yes, but only if the shoulder....The shoulder is OK, it's a cavalryman's armor after all. Left shoulder piece was often reinforced because it had to withstand the lance clash.
There was another set of black armor someone made for the Age of Change II mod. Figured I should mention it here. I don't know if anyone has asked the creator if cRPG can use it, though. It looks like a recolor of Milanese, without the rondels. There's also matching black shynbaulds and some sort of hand armor:(click to show/hide)

Sorry chimera_t, but we are not going to share any of our models or textures after release, we have other plans with them.
There's so many beautiful armours and weapons made by modders. We could add much more new models.
There's one thing bad about adding content : people already experience the 2 frames freeze, crashes and stutter related to high memory usage. Adding more leads to more performance problems.

On some systems that run Native flawlessly, stutter and freezes can appear due to modded equipment. Mostly because many mod textures are too big and badly optimized. This becomes critical when people wear many different equipments, as the computer has to load them somehow. The load texture on demand option helps but relies on the hard disk, which is still slow.

In fact, if current skins/models are making the game slow because theyre not optimised, well then someone needs to optimize them. Its completely doable. In fact if it would improve performance, it should be 'job #1'.
I'm fine with the helmet, but when people go around in silly armor, they should look silly. An armor as mighty as Black Armor should not look like an armor fit for mere mortals.

Some of us actually enjoys clothes - light armor.
However, there are a few items at the lower tier I think we could do without - alot of stat repetition, and not even much of a look difference IE, the abundance of boots.
Yes, it would be great to lose some of the awful looking items/ things no one uses anyway to free up some space for items which really enhance the mod.

maybe they didnt want to release it to the public as narf did with his stuff, but i asked a moderator if we could use this armor for cRPG and he sayd: if chadz asks for it, sure.
I really think this should be somewhat priority, (I guess after mechanical issues) but if any graphic updates are coming, this should be a natural.
Also as I stated earlier, some items could be replaced with more interesting.useful/graphically more pleasing items that would make crpg visually better:
Tourney helmets - no one uses them. Their crests are awkwardly small and dull. I would prefer 'War of the roses' Mod helmets if we want a few with tourney crests, or anything other than the current ones.
Do we really need three different versions of the nordic warlord style helmet?
10 different styles of the non-unique nasal helmets?
Does anyone wear the Khergit or Vaegir elite armor?

I think there is room for swapping better stuff in, I'd start with a few dresses and probably a couple of the more redundant nasal helms.
as long as they keep the high standards of WHAT they swap in, good job on that so far (in terms of graphics/scaling on model)

that helmet should be upturned, placed on the ground and used as a pisspot by warriors, not worn by them

This, black armor in SoD would be a good replacement. Looks far less cheezy, but still something for use by those who (think they) are above mere mortals.
