chadz, please employ this guy!  :shock:

Damn, I want that straw hat, although I would prefer it to be a more straw colour than the dyed look, but none the less, the feather would look epic, it would really give me a reason to heirloom the thing!

Wow, I can see this becoming something quite fantastic if it gets done!

for heirlooms maybe do the aged look for hilts, put on some leather strapping on them but make the blade look better.

I think that 98% of the players tend to not heirloom the low tier equipment.

Otherwise I like the accessories like the medal and the purse, it gives an indication of the wealth of this peasant. Adding embroded drawings around the collar ans sleeves would be nice as to show that the tunic is of a higher quality. I am not found of the banner because it gives a military look and the tunic should remain a civil, peasant cloth even though it belongs to tje Elder of the village.
i am 2%  :mrgreen:
pre patch i loomed leather jacket, gloves, helm and kerghit leather boots
And i think some archers will loom lighter armor.

But I think that he is correct that most players will go for mid to heavier armors.

Hate to be a downer, but that dagger and those pitchforks look like something straight out of Conan the Barbarian. Also don't understand the gold, diamonds and the engrave, its supposed to be battle equipment, so it should look more sturdy and powerful rather than more fancy and blingy.

Also the menu items have too much contrast IMHO, and they are way too bright, specially the icons, The transparent ones we have now are much cleaner looking.

Also ...diamond necklace on peasant rags hahaha, and whats the 18th century backpack for?

I want my bling! :mad:

Sorry I haven't updated in a while. That new game, Terraria, got a hold of me last night. Way too addicting... Also the rapture is coming this weekend so what's the point?...

lol, no worries. I think heirlooms should (realistically) look more worn and damaged after being passed down for generations and used in combat. So for the 'sake of game', I think adding some bling, (not quite Flavor Flav bling) to a maxed out heirloom will entice people to heirloom something that they otherwise would not have, such as most all of the low level gear. I'm steering away from the all gold look and more towards a "patched" gold look.

The chain was an experiment :) The backpack I could make look more like a sack? or woven basket maybe?

@La Makina
I like the embroidering idea. The banner was more for me, asking how to make those textures work correctly. If anyone knows how to texture body armor with the player's flag choice, LET ME KNOW!

@Tennenoth
Yes! Just adding that feather made me want to heirloom the straw hat too, lol. I'll see if I can fix the colors!

@crojosip
Yeah, that's what I was thinking for the swords as well. I'll get a couple done and see what you think.

You gotta make sure the piece still look nice when mix and matched with non heirloomed ones, for example, my gothic plate is loomed and fits with all my non loomed gear since they're all made by the same guy.

Love it, love you, love all up in here!

My only issue so far is with the gold on some of the weapons.  I'm not much of a fan of gold, in real life or in games, and I don't much like the gilded look on most armours.  I'd prefer, for some armours (such as the Arabian ones, where gold lining looks less fitting), some cool designs.  For example, some plate armous could become partially heraldic at a certain level or, like the forearm guards on Russ plate, get some cool illustrative designs.  Gold has the unhappy fortune of sometimes coming off gaudy when it tries convey elegance.  Perhaps I'm alone in this view and if I am do please ignore me and my eccentric tastes.

Also, that hat, that feather, so awesome.
