That tortoise-burger was my background on my IPod for two years
I personally have a little Hermann tortoise (called plod because I'm not original) just over 10 years old now. Quite the little escape artist, we lost him for about five hours during the summer, he had climbed out of his pen and hid underneath the dog (who was asleep). Anyway, not sure why I am typing this. Just reminded me.

Somehow the fact that the dog slept 5 hours on the turtle amazes me the most :D

Twas a huge Golden Retriever and I have never had a lazier dog. She just did not move for anything. There were times when we would have my cousins over when they were babies, they would climb all over her and she just wouldn't budge, once she found a spot in the sun, nothing was moving her.
She used to sleep in the corridor between the main house, the stairs and the front door so she could keep track of everyone in the house, if you were lucky, she'd lift her head but most of the time you'd get an eye open and close. Once she knew where everyone was, she shifted to back door (or in the garden, same spot every time, if it was summer) and lay in the sun until it was time for her walk. Then it was back the sun spot.
Besides that, the tortoise was about the size of a tea-cup saucer at the time so Shads wouldn't have cared.
