I loved Bastard sword and heavy bastard...But the perfect one for me is the long sword. Just as quick as the bastard, but a little longer, deals some more damage and it's much lighter. Great 2H!!! I agree with those who tried it, it's great. I tried the great sword before the long but found it too slow, the additional length wasnt worth it.

For me its my Heavy Bastard Sword. While I do concede the Longsword is a superior weapon, I have been using the Heavy Bastard Sword since Mount&Blade 1 and it is the weapon I feel most confident wielding.

Not to mention it gets a cool scabbard, which matches my awsome looking long dagger perfectly!

The nodachi is good, but i'm also going to try out the flamberge. The main problem with the flamberge is its eccessive cost.

Hehe, looks like I'm the only person using Sword of War=) I became so accustomed to it that every time I try to play with another 2h sword I suck like hell... Surely it looks like piece of shit (just imagine: black armour+sword of war... eeeeew! I think I'm gonna puke) but it has nice parameters. Versatile. It's deadly enough but not so slow as Danish and German (difference in real fight is much more noticeable than while looking on numerical parameters). As for Scottish claymore if chadz would increase its speed rather than weapon length I would be absolutely happy. Alas I have to stick to the SoW.

I love the Goedendag and the Flamberge, when you're a slow piece of shit the longest 2hander is your friend.

German great sword all the way, fell in love with it the first time I started again after the Era of Resets, 7-8 months ago.

But for a substitute, meaning low cost and similar attributes I'd go longsword. Thrust is really powerful for its size and it deals surprisingly high cutting damage. Range is of course gimping, can't go berserk with a longsword due to many weapons outranging it and shielders turtling up as they bulldoze into me.
