No videos on my end, and sadly my daughter is mostly into the girly stuff as well at her age.  However she loves bugs and snakes, and will argue with people about the most effective way to survive a zombie apocalypse along with why the infected from 28 days laters aren't really zombies.  So we'll see how it goes when she hits her teens.   

*She used to rock out like that as well when she was that age to maiden, motorhead, tool and pantera.  Wish I had taken some video of it.  Good call dad, that's a killer memory to keep around.*

i didn't go opposite - my parents do like rock, but more soft things like u2/genesis and this stuff...all three of us children are into punk rock/metal and stuff, so it's not really the exact opposite

lol god I hope not.  I'd hate to be the dad that constantly tells his daughter that her "taste" is complete shit.  It'd be such a disappointment to her grandfather and I if she turns out to be one of those girls that goes crazy for talentless hacks like whomever the modern Britney is, lol.

Didn't I just say that it was the GATEWAY INSTRUMENT?
Meaning: teach her piano because it's generic enough to lead her into something cooler and easy enough that a young child (8-10 yrs old) would have no trouble beginning. It's also a nice generic instrument that helps you wrap your ears around pitches and the way things should sound. Tuning, rhythm, etc...
Also, you have to learn to read both treble and bass clef. So... bass player in the making perhaps?

Not to mention the sheer accessibility. You can take piano in a lot of middle schools now. IT WOULD BE HOMEWORK FOR HER TO JAM WITH YOU.
