A few things for you to remember in case you ever breed:
1)  You don't spend every moment with your child.  Firstly it will drive you bat-shit crazy not having time for yourself to enjoy your own hobbies.  Secondly it will make your child completely clingy and dependant, spoiled and/or lacking in self-motivation, self-discipline and self reliant.

2)  She was doing her homework on the desk next to me where I can help explain things to her if she has a question, also to make sure she's actually doing the work and doing it correctly.  Idly browsing forums/websites/email is hardly as distracting from a task as actually playing a game.

it is hard, but if you want to be sane and children not to be emotionally disabled you have to step aside. go outside with friends, do something stupid, start knitting... at first it's like "am i wrong? is this bad parenting?", but then you'll notice that you are better and when you're better, your family is better too. (btw yesterday was the marriage day so happy m-day to everyone married)

My relatives use me to gain this time :/ It is the price I pay for being a jobless bum that I have the pleasure of being official family babysitting and thus have the experience of taking care of several varieties of small to middling sized children. Their parents truly deserve the breakXD

Also @ratigan it's a bit hard to stop a kid from seeing pretty much anything on the internet/tv if they have the inclination or through accident. Speaking from personal experience of sights better left unseen at a young age ><
