New slot mechanic

Basically, I want a totally new slot mechanic, a more global one, a more complex one that could consequently work as a better balance for items without having to change the actual stats of said item.

200 total slots, everything will cost a certain number of slots, horses, armors, weapons, shields, you name it.

So, by adjusting the slots for every items, we'll be able to prevent people running around in full black armor with a flamberge and a crossbow, or full black armor with 2 different weapons and a steel shield.

This can also be used for balancing mean, if a weapon is deemed overpowered, just make it use more slots so that it cannot be used in conjunction with the high end armors or shields.

Or the item could be balanced.
Also, I have declared myself #1 NA hybrid thrower

As an NA admin, I am the most laid back and concerned with the ~fun of the game~ above all other factors. I've also been super inactive since Summer 2012. University takes most of my time, but I still find some time to play when i can.

I don't quite trust the devs enough for this, what with the shitty item balance they've done so far, atleast with the slot system, the treshold of "Fuck everything up™" is going to be much lower.

The number crunching isn't worth the effort. That's not the good way to balance. The simple 4 slots system works nearly as it should so I don't really think it requires such a big overhaul.

Why ? Besides, even with 24 agi you are so slow in plate armors that any lighter one is better.

Why should plate armor make you unable to carry a shield and two weapons? Plate wearers already pay a lot of upkeep and have a high WPF penalty, do you want them to disappear completely?

Everyone is running around with enough money to buy masterworked weapons @ 1,3 million gold, do you Really think upkeep is a problem anymore?

And why, yes I want them to disappear completely.

The WPF penalty is also not enough to make any sort of difference.

My current build is 24/15, hardly an agility whore, actually it's the cookie cutter build most plate wearers use nowadays.

Plate right now is rather ho-hum anyways.  Blunt and piercing weapons rip through it like you're naked.  If someone wants to wear 80k in armor let them lose 3.5k each round.  Even with a 5x multiplier at all times they'll suffer a net loss of funds after you factor in a weapon,  maybe a shield, and sometimes a horse (if you really want to hemorrhage dinars).  1.2 million might last a while, but it's by no means an infinite reservoir to draw upon.

Not to mention that xbows and longbows, agi characters using high damage pierce weapons, and cavalry can destroy the black plate turtles with such relative ease that most people find plate in general not worth using, except for lulz. Oh, and all of the above counters are rather common nowadays, just fyi. And if for some reason those arent present, teamwork beats plate wearers as the slow bastards are the easiest thing to spot, encircle, and flank. Best of all, the big shiny armor is a great visual cue for pubs to realize that they need to focus their melee attacks on the tin can
