Imagine creating a character using the most epensive armour and never repairing it, ever, and never use anything less. Weapons you can tell if they are damaged, but not armour 

I wonder what the stats are on damaged black armour?

I make a shit-ton of money using 40k in gear. The secret is to just have enough money to absorb your losses. If you're just starting out and you don't ride a horse 30k in the bank is a good amount. That way you can ride your losing streaks and make it all back and then some in your winning streaks.

Simply because people dont use cheap weapon. Most of the time I meet oponents with longbows, greatswords, poleaxes, huscarl shields, heavy armor...boring. Any powerful gear should be like a reward for teamplay and skilled game.
