who cares about low accuracy, when you could take 2 of these and a stack of bolts,

6 rapid fire shots.

Or even if they are 2 slot, you're still gunna have a massive increase in the amount of people who take xbows.

chadz himself has always aimed not to make crpg a ranged spam fest, this will completely destroy that aim.

I'm aware of his tendencies against ranged, but as it is now there is little distinction still between dedicated xbowers and an infantry who lugs one around as a sidearm.  With the Slot system in place, and we make the repeaters at least 2 slots.. 2-handed or Polearm users really couldn't take it as a sidearm, as most 2H/PO are 2 slots themselves (this would leave no slots for ammo)

I think the general idea is worth considering, albeit the details would need hammering out.

The low accuracy of the weapon wil make the crossbow
like an automatic shotgun.

And if more than one automatic crossbow  SPAM FIRE

Missle speed:
The hunting crossbow has: 43 missle speed.
A repeating xbow should then have around 30-35 missle speed. This should mean anything past short range would require the user to add a huge arc.

Damage:
Hunting xbow: 37p
As this thing will be firing faster then a bow, give it 25c (or p) dmg

And if the normal xbow is only 1 slot, this should be 1 slot as well.

P.S historical note: Early Chinese armies had shit loads of ranged. As in SHITLOADS

I say this seems good. Then we might actually have real crossbowmen. I see VERY few dedicated crossbowmen now.
This game isn't about being skillful as much as its about saying things in general chat that enrage people who then go to murder you but in their rage they make dumb mistakes which gets them killed.

I agree, a repeating crossbow (aka. Chu ko nu) sounds fun.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uo13R_fSvnI&feature=related <- shows how they looked
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SodhzoAE6XE&feature=related <- shows that they are fairly deadly at short ranges

How does that second video even relate to the topic? That is not a replica ancient repeating xbow. In reality they were shitty thus never gained popularity. Wtf is this crap?
Why is everybody telling me to think? I think, I just don't show it.

you fail :p
read the description thats his own design

and joxer you fail too for pretending like you know any history once again.

anyway cho kun nu would be awesome but might be lame gameplay wise

plus all the effect into modelling/coding I'd rather they made constructible balista, so we could have a true engineer class who is useful in battle ;D

If you've ever used an arbalest/sniper xbow/siege xbow (in earlier patches) you would've noticed that there is always a couple of seconds between when you begin to aim an arbalest and when the arbalest can actually fire, forcing you to stand there aiming your xbow for a few seconds each time you want to fire. Add this to a repeater and it becomes a little harder to machine gun everything, especially with infantry bearing down on your vulnerable xbow aiming ass

Damage levels would have to be tested since 25c damage wouldn't even make a kuyak flinch, and even archers are wearing kuyaks these days sometimes

To replace the current xbow? Maybe. As an addition? No.
