Nothing other than a complete nerf of archery is acceptable. Increasing the wpf penalty so that Archers can't be a pinpoint sniper with 18 agi is a good idea too.

The whole " ranged is only strong in groups " argument was found to be false. Archery is the strongest class in low pop and high pop.

Even with 18 str Archers still do a comparable amount of damage to any other class. Tested damage in duel server and strat battles and playing archery with 18 str is more than doable, in fact it's really easy considering how long you have to aim with 0 recoil.

I can't believe 2h cut damage was nerfed but overpowered ranged was allowed to go on like this. Would balancers rather see the mod die before nerfing ranged? Let's find out.

We're making/debating/considering some changes to archery. Unfortunately archery is one of those classes that is very hard to balance; however, I think we've come to a decent solution that isn't a straight up nerf, but also changes playstyles a little and forces you to think more about where you want your direction to be.

We've not finalised anything yet and everything is still a debate, that's why I'm not posting any specifics, however I can say that at the moment we're looking at ammo counts and movement speeds.

I think overall damage per shot across different PD levels is a bigger issue, then kiting/movement speed

Reduce bow PD requirements, thus reducing the maximum PD effective, thus reducing archery dmg and forcing archers out of tanky ass str builds

Here's a summary of changes being considered:
  • Changing the weapon length modifier for bows to lower their top speed (wep length lowers your max speed)
  • Lowering ammo count for higher end arrows (bodkins and tatar)
  • horses receiving a damage resistance to ranged
  • Internal bow balance: damage compression, weaker bows are faster

Cold steel is fake news, not credible at all. Those spears are braced far harder than any mortal could hold them, and as they cannot flow with the sword swings they can do naught but be cut. Not to mention just like the shields its all probably made out of junk wood. And the beasts swinging are too badass for the average man, you cant be that cool and also be a man of science.

Maybe if Coronoa virus gets rid of 50 percent or more of the world population we can do without a pope and religion.
