Yes I fixed it myself but I don't know if this will work consistently:
All I did was sell it on the marketplace- it shows up correctly in the drop down menu to pick what item you want to sell. If you want to use it ingame, however, set it to your default equipment. Then, after playing a couple of rounds, you can take it off your default equipment and it will show up in your inventory in game!
