These tournaments are best held on one day where people all show up to fight at the agreed time set in advance. Having people set their own matches takes too long and its too hard to get everyone together.

only because no one cares enough at this point in the mods life if u did this like before about 5 years ago all the fights would have been scheduled and done in 4 or 5 days

Far easier to find the time to do that given a one week window than settling on a single day, especially considering the 1-day event can take hours on end while the schedule-your-own matches are much less of a time commitment. It worked just fine in the past, especially because there were too many people present to even hope to finish in one or even two days. Heck, I took part in an NA-EU tourney hosted by Panos and there were people able to schedule duels with 6-9 hrs timezone difference with no problem. It's 100% a lack of commitment that is stopping things from running smoothly.
