Its been quite a bumpy road since Prof and James took over the mod and they did an awesome job.
But now, as both are having busy times in real life, I finally made a step into developing myself since Prof is temporarily wheelchair bound after he broke his left knee in the car accident he has been involved in as he told us on discord.
So here are the first patch notes from the changes you can expect in the next large update.
There is a lot of new stuff coming as BETA, so please be aware there might be a lot of bugs and glitches you will experience, mostly with the strat stuff and the DTV changes.
DTV:
Cassi: New round Gondor implemented after sexies, wearing plated armor and barbute like helmets. Archers are plated, some are supposed to be rangers. Plated cavalry will spawn on 3rd wave. Hero: Aragorn - heavy mail and sword of war
Cassi: New round Arabs implemented after peasants wearing turban and sarranid clothes + sandals or barefooted, throwing smoke bombs and stones mostly. Turn off particle system if you experience lag. 3rd wave will spawn with mules and donkeys. Hero: Kebab Master spawning with butcher knife, fastest hero in the game so far.
Cassi/Prof: AI pathfinding reworked: Bots are now supposed to jump if encountering an obstacle. They are now able to jump over fences or probably shieldwalls (horses).
Cassi: Bots ranged wpf is nerfed by up to 50% (exponentially increasing on higher rounds). This is because tincans/sexies will shoot down the vivi mistress on sight, and considering shes flying you are not even really able to protect her.
Cassi: Sexies renamed to Krems because of the constant annoying screaming.
Cassi: Because of the wpf nerf to ranged, bots are now supposed to have infinite ammo, this goes for throwing weapons aswell (also heros).
Cassi: changes to the hero "chadz" on 3rd tincan wave. He is now spawning in pilgrim disguise and unarmed and is supposed to steal gold from you if he punches you, this however is not easy to code and is still in work!
Strat:
Cassi: increased crime by 10% for any fief
Cassi: chadz made a lot of other buildable siege equipment but never finished most of them. So I gave it a try and tried to finish the ram (was virtually 95% done). I will try to include this in this patch already, but having it bug free will have priority. It looks exactly like the native mount&siege server ram, just better working and movable like a siege tower. It will damage the gate like a catapult does a wall, but has higher defense.
Cassi: loot should be fixed for any battle type.
Cassi: Large factions will now experience minor handycap such as slower growing army or higher crime rates in general in order to prevent superior factions like we have seen in the past (UIF etc).
Battle:
Cassi: Team names changed from eg. "purple team" to the name of the clan with the most players active. eg.: if there are 3 kalmars playing and 2 Krems, faction name will be "Kalmarunionen". On equality it will be the faction with the higher score.
Cassi: Throwing lances nerf reverted.
Cassi: Throwing weapons damage is buffed by 20%
Cassi/Dupre: racism detection system. The logs are now going through a detection system looking for racial slur. If detected, the player will be muted if still playing and will be banned for 1minute if he already left. This however is to leave a notification on the ban record for other admins. The whole system can take over several minutes after the racist word has been said since the logs arent updated instantly.
Cassi: Horse archers horses will not be able to maneuver while drawing their bows. In order to ride properly you will have to leave your bow undrawn.
Cassi: shields wont break as fast as they do now. Their lifespan should be around 50% longer in average.
I might be missing some things, will add them if I think of them.
Looking forward to a lot of feedback, it will be my first try to do stuff in this mod ever.
