Not sure how much you travel abroad but having to cross the country borders is never a pleasant thing. Also the thing with buying stuff from Germany, arriving to you with no extra cost (customs), thats great as well. Not sure about other negative aspects of the union but I wouldn't give away the comfort of living in mega country just because of racial policy. Probably does not matter for bigger country because they always had it good, but smaller like Slovenia would feel the lack of union for sure.
