i'm surprised that you completely disagree with leshma's statement there. i would rather restate American Culture as International Post-Modern Sewer Culture but it does indeed largely originate in terms of funding, production, and propagation in the US

we've got far too large of a landmass here with populations too diametrically opposed to one another for a century and a half or so for there to really be such a thing as American Culture imo. might be my sectionalist tendencies.
