Hungary and Croatia put a stop on mass immigration not because they think it is the proper way or because of their history, but because Germany told them to do so. Because Germany can't possibly look like a bad guy (they had enough of bad guy image because of chocolate chip cookie regime) so they ordered their subordinates to be bad guys instead of them.
Germany and Germans are incredibly chauvinistic and all the immigrants they take are there to work for their economy but not a single Turk, Serb, Croat, Czech or Polak will ever be considered German no matter how long his family stays there, not even in five generations from now. I've faced German 'racism' in this very community numerous times while I was actively playing cRPG. You are idiots if you think Germans don't have idea they are superior to every other nation on this planet. Same can be said for British or French. Which is the exact reason they fought so many bloody wars throughout history. Compared to western European nations, rest of the world is pretty damn peaceful and content with what they've got. Reason why other countries took revenge upon Germany in the aftermath of WW2 wasn't because of Jewish genodice, but because Germans had this policy to kill certain high numbers of foreign prisoners of war for every killed German soldier. They collected so much wrath for their actions during WW2, other nations who won and invaded Germany and their satellite couldn't possibly restrain themselves. And they tried and still try to paint it all on certain ideology which 'brainwashed' them for 15 years and forced them to commit attrocities in the name of nation state.
For the similar reasons Serbia and Greece are taking immigrants in, because these countries were ordered and paid to do so. Otherwise you can bet they would shoot at dem sand friends on sight because neither Greeks or Serbs are fan of muslims.
Serbia is also about to reckognize Kosovo state, not because anybody within Serbia think it is proper thing to do but because of the immense pressure from big players to do so.

tl;dr Anyone who has fears for German national identity and German state in general is plain stupid. Germany always had and still has a plan for every action they make. But countries like Sweden are fucked mainly because others hold them by the strings. Whenever you see strong socialism going on you can be sure there is some nation wide experimentation going on. Swedes can be angry but that doesn't change the fact they choose to be cucks long before WW2.
Edit: Could easily bring Ukraine into this. Many of you braindead idiots believed that Ukraine is on the path for salvation after American liberation of that country. Guess what, today Ukraine is even bigger shithole than it was five years ago and will stay that way for at least another two decades.
