I'm like a ghost after being defeated in battle. I seem to have respawned, but I can't see myself on the map, and can't interact with any fiefs. Is this how it works now? Strat going rogue-like now? One and done?

Not gonna lie, that'd actually be sick. Would make for shorter strat rounds, kinda like a month-long pubg match in the medieval era.

if you lose there should be a chance to be taken prisoner like in MB single player, then youre mates can bust you out by beating who has you captive. 

But you should still be able to merc battles or else we would have no pop.

Yeah, would be cool to have actual penalties for defeat, instead of "Here go far away for a week or two and come back with maximum range-bonus goods to make up for any lost time."

lol that reminds me of this certain cage in WoW where if you got beat you were locked in it til another player came and let you out. I forget where it was at.

I'd be 100% behind perma-death or capturing if there was a better guarantee of roster balance.  I think there are plenty of players out there who don't care what faction they fight for, and in fact are hesitant about joining either side due to fears of making enemies.

But, when the prof is there, he can make it so people can switch sides, or go from spectator to a side.  If it were automated, or the Prof was forced to attend each and every battle, it would be nice anyone who wasn't for or against either faction just joined in spectator mode, then the team commanders took turns picking mercs until the remainder just joined the smaller roster.
