Weird bug!? Or wtf?

My friend and i are playing on the same internet, suddenly the server crashed and we was supposed to rejoin again!
But only my friend could rejoin, because my name was used by another player!? Guess who that guy was??

it was my friend, we got different Cd-Keys, but he still managed to log in as me with his character Guard_The_Great_Phyro! He also had all my equipment!!

What the hell is this?

Mmh... I don't understand how can he possibly be login in "as you" with a char that doesn't has the same nickname as one of yours.

This is a very common issue when servers reboot, you just have to wait half a minute or so and then you can connect without any problems.

What he said. The server doesnt recognise that you have disconnected straight away so just wait a minute and you'll be fine.

but anyway, its kinda weird that my friend can play with my character! Lets say we both suddenly hate each other and he fucks it up That would be mean!

I had the smae with my friend. But I went on his Steam acc before and played warband there.
Then I tried to play again on mine but I couldn't because the name was already taken.
But I reinstalled whole Steam andthe game.
After this it worked again.

but none of us bought the game on steam, we bought it on the site! Anyway, hope something fixes this in the future i just wanted to tell the rest of the world about this shit

Ya, I went to my friend's place and we both played cRPG togeter on same server on his internet. Once the server loaded the next map, I loaded with peasant equipment (or no equip at all... can't remember, it was a long time ago) but he had all my stuff and my character with my name and stuff. We left the server and reconnected and it fixed itself. Happened only once or twice...

I think its the fact that playing on same IP (cuz we were using same router to connect to internet) caused the server to mix us up or wtv at map loading and it "gave" my character to my friend and when I connected (some seconds after him), I had nothing. It's like when u start a character with a name already taken, you'll be able to connect to the server but you won't have your peasant gear.

If I remember correctly, it would do the same thing whenever we would load the server at same time (not at map loading but when we started playing on the server). To keep our own characters, we had to load the server one at a time and wait for the first to be actually playing on the server before the second one starts to load onto the server.
