Can you remove night from the servers ?

maybe its because i got a laptop but when its nighttime on the server i cant see shit and my eyes start to hurt after a few minutes.

Yes screen is pitch-black, literally unplayable.

For real though can anyone post a screenshot of the bad night time that makes it hard to see stuff? It's never that dark on my screen.

Sometimes it's a little murkier, is that what people are talking about?

Yeah, I don't get it either. Maybe I had some fucky graphics settings by default, but night time pretty much just changes the sky colour for me. Could be that some of you have bad monitors?

My shitty old laptop would only change the skybox color at night. It made the ground look like it was glowing due to the sharp contrast of light brown dirt and dark blue sky. On my gaming pc with an average monitor both the skybox and ground darken, and the annoying part is the dirt-colored ground becomes a similar dark brown color as many armors and wooden weapons, while the stone-colored ground becomes a very similar color as chainmail and metal weapons, making it especially hard to see swing directions as well as the finer details in other peoples' movement (which way their body is oriented, where there arms are in relation to their body, i.e. what swing/block they are using).

Basically, nighttime seems to make it a crapshoot whether or not you get lucky enough to line your enemy up with a contrasting background color, otherwise their swings and movement will be far harder to follow than in daytime.

I always used to figure over the years it was my shitty laptop somehow doing me a solid. Then my next one also happened to not look even half as hideous at 'night time' than others seemed to suggest anecdotally.

But then I got a gaming PC a couple of weeks ago, and somehow it still looks fine.

Well it certainly doesnt add anything, and like me many do feel it hurts a lot of the gameplay. Maybe its pc sided, or maybe its our eyes either way it makes it relatively miserable.

edit: It does add some tiny bit of night time feel, but its a poor middleground of sneaky night time and just plain daytime. Instead theres no real gameplay change added, but only the eye strain due to colors being much more blended out and similar.

Save your vision, enjoy the sunny weather. Not an advantage in combat but it allows you to decrease your monitor brightness and that is the key.

Ages ago I had a short conversation about it with Meow and he was completly fine with it. I have no idea if current devs won't mind it, but I honestly don't care. Cheers.

PS I am not sure if it still works, but you get idea, find a line of code for sunny skybox and replace all others with the one that is linked with desired effect.

Banned? Do you mean like officially forbidden or is it the related to WSE2, it's possible that WSE checks the file sum and overwrites everything that was potientially modified by user. Well, I guess I'll have to check it myself.

Pandor got banned by admins for posting about his green arrows. A lot of people have removed nighttime but i dont think others like hearing about it, it could border on the same ban rule. Last time this discussion about editing files for convenience came up i ended up just removing my edit, and not that i was playing a lot then but ive played much less since.

I see, of course it would be easier for everyone if the devs would simply disable day/night cycle as I don't think it adds anything to the game at this point.
By the way someone checked if it works? I played few rounds but didn't bother myself with editing files.

come on, i doubt the current admin team gives a fuck at this point to bother with banning people for such minor stuff like that. and pandor got unbanned in the end w/o any file-checker being introduced, so noone can surely tell that he's not using dem green hacks anymore. don't worry about it. i even think that they'll go and disable the night/fog in the end because the last thing they want to do right now is to confront the playerbase. and the ammount of upvotes/downvotes to the op post can be considered as the will of the absolute majority of that playerbase right now.

for me night time maps are the favourite ones because i always play with the "show outlines on the enemies banner" feature on and it gives me advatage of ninja-killing all them blind fucks around. i do hate much the foggy or bright snowy maps instead. delete them plox or i cri

Removing night time is silly. I honestly don't understand why people complain so much about it. Perhaps you guys are using bad graphical settings? I don't find night time hard to see in and I enjoy having different settings to play in. Day/Night/Weather.

I definitely agree that the amount of time that night comes up is too high and could be greatly reduced.
