Imagine you are going to see your nephew for Christmas.  You plan to stop at the toy store on the way to his house.  But oh no -- something comes up.  You are delayed because you have to help your neighbor with something very important.  By the time it's done, the stores are closed, but you go see your family for Christmas anyways.  You can make it up later with a present the next time you see him.  Everyone understands.

Life happens.  You get busy.  It's February now, and another family gathering comes around.  Do you get him the present that you missed on Christmas, or figure: "Well, Christmas is long gone now.  Too bad kiddo." ?

Maybe you are a good neighbor but a bad uncle.  Prof is the good uncle.  We love uncle Prof.  We love you too but Uncle Prof has goodies.
