If holes and clusters trigger people with this phobia the only solution left is to keep them in a padded room cinched in straightjacket. TV shows are the least of their worries, I doubt they can operate in RL in any meaningful capacity.

Exposure therapy I guess, but not sure how that would work. Show them a half-eaten donut, then move on to whole ones?

I think its mainly hole on the skin, tiny and in clusters. I can understand it cause it kinda makes me think of some sort of insect laying eggs in small holes on the skin, like that clip of the monkey with hundres of larvae in its skin that they squeeze out.

This is a Surinam Toad frog, it puts their eggs inside her back skin and the hatchlings pop out at some point.

Show this or even better a clip of them hatching to someone with trypophobia and they will have nightmares for weeks.

How do you guys feel looking at it? Seriously, I'd like to know. The pics on the CNN site didnt do much to me, nothing at all actually. But I remember seeing this clip of that frog a few years ago and it made me kinda cringe... its funny now tho

The clip of the frogs wriggling out of their mom's flesh was definitely quite gross, and I'm sure the average person would be at least moderately disturbed by it, but otherwise harmless/inanimate holes in stuff is, like most phobias, pretty ridiculous to those unaffected with said phobia.
