AFAIK in any previous tournament ran either by myself or by JayJrod there hasn't been any restrictions on looms. The reasoning behind this is there is no real way to verify if someone is using MW armor. You could check their items but they could have a +0 copy and just claim they were using that. If people are in need of +3's they can feel free to join my clan for the tourney and use any of mine. As for gold limitations on armor I don't see why its necessary personally but I'm happy to change that if I'm in the minority.

Interesting I did not remember using looms but I guess I must have. My clan can also loan +3's out to people for when they fight if needed.

I would put a gold limit on it to keep things fair and fun excluding weapon like 30k for armor or something but that might just be me

Can confirm that there used to be no heirloom restrictions for this reason (at least in the 5v5 tourney, dunno if I participated in any others). I distinctly remember having to borrow certain boots out of our armory since I personally didn't have any heavy ones loomed. Also the armor limit was around 30k I think. I recall being able to just barely wear a barbutte, rus scale armor, wisby gauntlets, and mail boots given the restriction (and that total is ~25k).

Uh yes there is its called gold limit. Masterworks are worth more (ie double or triple i cant remember) so it's a sort of soft cap on masterworks

I just checked by outfitting a character with full +3s and no looms at all (same outfit) and they were the same exact cost

I think it adds a little diversity to the tourney. Rather than only seeing plate crutchers wielding long mauls, we will also see a variety of builds.

If that was the case that's all we would see on NA1 which isn't true. It's mostly medium armor. I don't even wear full plate on NA1 anymore. Let me ask you this: is having no money cap at all changing how you are planning on playing?
