My point was that Silveredge's "teach them how to down block" comment isn't very helpful. Caramel is trying to show people that you can easily adapt to a cavalry heavy environment and be beneficial to your team by equipping some form of anti-cavalry polearm, and all of this is possible without even changing your build. By saying "down block," you don't solve the problem of cav harassment, you only prolong dealing with it for another minute, potentially allowing that cavalry player to move along and hurt your teammates. You also can't stop any kind of damage done by the horse bump itself, and if cav is running through your formation knocking people to the ground, you can kiss your multi goodbye.
If you carry a spear around, you will do either 1 of 2 things:
1) Kill horses
2) Form a magical bubble around yourself and your teammates that cav players will not be able to enter
Honestly, the only thing I would add to Caramel's guide is to use ~ key as much as you can and listen for the sound of hooves beating.
Good guide, if people would pay attention to it they would be more inclined to play as actual teammates.
