Know its been a while but I have been playing. Tasa Clan has been making its mark in Kenshi. Unfortunately this episode Kenshi made more of a mark on Tasa Clan than the other way around. We'll see how many scars we pick up along the way here.

So last time I was on my way out the swamp to go further south after looting everyone I could and making Tasa Clan a lot richer than when I set out. The dust bandit horde was no longer there (the game updated so I imported. lame but yeah) but never fear... there's always another group of people wanting to stab us with the pointy end.

(click to show/hide)

Sheks.. they're adorable racists.

Fortunately for us, we were not alone since a Shek Kingdom patrol was nearby to save our asses from the Kral's Chosen patrol. How nice.

(click to show/hide)

We fought.

(click to show/hide)

And tristan was the only one to go down. Nice.

However, sticking around to loot and heal up meant the kral's chosen were getting back up and the shek kingdom patrol had disappeared. They seemed to have a problem with us.

(click to show/hide)

Things quickly got out of control.

(click to show/hide)

Then we got wiped out.

(click to show/hide)

But we're stubborn. We got right back up.

(click to show/hide)

Damn right Heskey, damn right.

After beating the stragglers that were still around after the ones that actually beat us up were gone, we ran.

(click to show/hide)

Set up a camping site at the top of a cliff with some campfires going. Was nice even though Heskey was taking forever to get there.

(click to show/hide)

Its just a broken leg Heskey. Get over here faster mang.

It overlooked a ruin but there was nothing there of interest or even there at all. No bodies or loot. Just a ruin in the middle of the desert.

(click to show/hide)

Not really sure whats up with that but eh. Some exploration while I wait for the meatbags to heal up.

I will say this though, night time is pretty in the desert.

(click to show/hide)

But maybe.. that's no moon.

Regardless, after camping out for the night, we kept moving south. And finally we hit a town. Last Stand. A very interesting name for a town but hey a town with a bar and beds. I'll take it especially after having to avoid a group of 7 skin spiders to get to it. I'll definitely take it.

(click to show/hide)

I was on my way to get more food and drop off loot when I noticed a skirmish happening near the town. A squad of berserkers and Kral's Chosen were fighting and I was eager to get their loot. So naturally I went over there to stay nearby and then loot their bodies. But of course.. we got dragged into it. And that went as well as you might think.

(click to show/hide)

At least someone was enjoying themselves.

(click to show/hide)

But after finally waking up and healing everyone I slowly dragged everyoneto the bar to rest in the beds on the second floor. And then looted while they slept.

But a swarm of skin spiders decided to attack while I was doing this and I didn't even know. I just saw the bodies outside the walls.

(click to show/hide)

And one had a 1k bounty. Might as well try and see if I can get the payout. A bit weird but if it works might as well I guess right?

(click to show/hide)

And it worked. Lmao. That skin spider does not fit in that cage though. Need a bigger cage.

So another swarm attacked as I was finishing things up in LAst Stand with supplies and they actually dropped some of the shek warriors. THey still got wiped but damn those guys are tough mofos so I was surprised. Spiders are not to be fucked with.

So I continued my way south. Might as well continue the trek. Found an abandoned outpost filled to the brim with random loot.

(click to show/hide)

Wonder why it was called Old Frontlines.

(click to show/hide)
w

Maybe that was why. Oh fuck. GOddamn spiders.

And of course they get hungry after kicking our asses.

(click to show/hide)

In a stroke of luck we get saved by berserkers who in turn kick my ass while I try to heal people in the lull.

(click to show/hide)

Wunderbar.

Fortunately for us though, we drag everyone to the back of the town and camp out long enough to go near the crater nearby and fight beak things. So basically I said fuck this place. I had my fill. The spiders did me in.

So like I said Kenshi made its mark on us. We got our asses fully whupped. Goddamn spiders. So for the next episode we're heading north to get our asses in gear and maybe recruit new people since I still haven't found new people to recruit.

So after the last episode, I said fuck it and decided to retreat and lick our wounds. Went back north but didn't want to go the same way I took to get to LAst Stand so I went through Vain, the hiver's territory. Easier stuff to handle if things went wrong along with plenty of hive villages to get supplies from if needed.

Resolving to get better gear and stronger people, I went back north. Crossing through Vain definitely was a different experience, prettier too. The local wildlife is easier to see and take pictures of for people back home.

(click to show/hide)

Shhh. They're sleeping.

(click to show/hide)

Oh fuck they heard us. RUN!

Ran to the hive village and started fighting them as the hive warriors came out in droves to help us out.

(click to show/hide)

Skinned them all and then went across the river (which is acidic. Everything in Vain is acidic now. Dang) to set up camp. Tristan made a friend too.

(click to show/hide)

He was doing alright fighting the beak thing but couldn't keep it up. His new friend then started to eat him.

(click to show/hide)

After stepping in and finishing it off (and skinning it ofc), we set up camp.

(click to show/hide)

While everyone else was resting, Heskey and I fought a baby beak thing for some training plus to clear out a nearby beak thing nest.

(click to show/hide)

And the beak thing nest had some loot that we picked up and sold.

(click to show/hide)

The egg sold for 1.5k so that wasn't a bad pickup. Wonder if there's a way to hatch it and train your own baby beak thing. I'd so do that. They're adorable when they're sleeping.

We kept heading north going along the river in Vain, hitting all the villages as we went which had terrible supplies and they pretty much are identical in looks and supplies. We fought more beak things but no gorillos. Only saw one but it went on its merry way before being swarmed by other beak things. RIP.

As we made it out of the Vain and near our stomping grounds in the Hub, we came upon a large gathering of dust bandits.

(click to show/hide)

I avoided them and went around to the Hub to heal everyone up first. Then it was time to hit them and hit them hard.

(click to show/hide)

The first dust bandit patrol (along with a hungry bandit patrol that wanted in on the fun) was decimated pretty quickly. We looted everyone, sold it back at the Hub, healed up and then went back out.

(click to show/hide)

We got dis. Avoided the large group and chipped away at the stranglers before hitting up the group that rallied back at their campgrounds. And they knew exactly who we were.

(click to show/hide)

Okran's breast indeed. A lot of looting and selling occurred here and I decided to do research and make new weapons for Tristan (ringed sabre), Voncrow (Naginata) and Jona (Naginata as well). Got lucky with Voncrow and Jona as they got catun weapons and Trist's sabre was re fitted. Apparently to make even better stuff I am going to need ancient research books so that's going to be fun but for now I'll keep hoping for those crits.

After having everyone rest up, I decide to do research. I noticed another dust bandit camp nearby so everyone else is sent to check it out. We do the same tactics with the first camp. Draw them out and fight stragglers. However this time around a larger group sticks together but I decide I can try.

So they charge in.

(click to show/hide)

Dynamics is the first to go down and not one of theirs has gone down yet. Not good.

(click to show/hide)

THe fight goes on and we're dropping a few dust bandits while holding with the other 4. Things are looking up.

(click to show/hide)

Then Jona and Voncrow go down almost simultaneously. Tristan and Heskey are left to hold while very outnumbered.

(click to show/hide)

Heskey goes down next but Dynamics gets back up. The dust bandit swarm is thinning.

(click to show/hide)

And Dynamics is swatted down for the second time. Tristan is doing his best solo and actually holding up pretty well with those odds.

But he can't hold out forever and he too falls.

(click to show/hide)

The dust bandits loot food from everyone but Heskey. Not sure why they left Heskey alone.

But Dynamics is not willing to stay down. He gets up for the third time.

(click to show/hide)

He is outnumbered but very much pissed off.

(click to show/hide)

He drops a couple dust bandits as he keeps blocking and attacking. Fighting for his life as well as his food.

(click to show/hide)

He beat that group solo before a couple stragglers come along hoping to pick him off.

(click to show/hide)

They do not.

So the lesson here is ... do not fuck with Dynamic's food.

He returns Jona's food first.

(click to show/hide)

And then everyone eventually gets back up and Tristan heals everyone up as I diligently keep researching. The looting begins and I take everything to the rebel base outside the Hub. However this does run into a snag.

(click to show/hide)

If its not dust bandits, its hungry bandits. They swarm the rebel base's bar and its a fight to survive as the guards watch the fight with bored expressions on their faces.

As people start to drop, I drop the researching and run to the bar to assist. Heskey is now the final survivor as he keeps trying to dodge, kick and punch his way to freedom.

(click to show/hide)

I make it to the bar but Heskey had been bested by the time I arrived so I played cleanup on the remainders. As the fight was going on the guards were cleaning up. I was healing people up as the guards were still cleaning up the bodies inside.

(click to show/hide)

At this point enough was enough. Time for rest and to go back to the Hub. Unfortunately we were ambushed by a small group of dust bandits and wiped out. They took the food (not Heskey's though.. again). In our weakened state, it was too much. We limped our way back to the Hub and rested while I bought new food for everyone.

And it ends there for now. I plan to go north still to get new recruits and perhaps some animals. Once Tasa Clan has enough members an outpost will be setup soon. That goal is still going to be achieved. But we're getting to the point where we can start holding our own. Not against spiders but fuck spiders.

hire me as your elite bodyguard

You're actually getting there now. Soon.jpg

Tristan is as unreliable as ever. My one complaint is why my character is 2h. Polearm masterrace m8. Also Heavy weapons are the greatest thing in this game, especially since dex can only be trained by using dex weapons in combat. To train strength all you have to do is fill a guy up with iron, then fill up another guy with iron and have him carry the guy with iron while both wear traders backpacks full of iron and just follow a big enough patrol.

My favorite screenshot from old version back on the old map. My guy going at some bandits with a fragmentation axe.
(click to show/hide)

I think I'll try to get back into Kenshi again. Was having some fun with battle brothers, but now is the time for a warriors rise. Need a break from watching so much Iron Fist of course.

In the last episode I finally made you a polearm. Going to set everyone up with cutting weapons to get dex up since cutting works on dex. I personally still will be wielding planks and etc but without any dex that shit sucks. I do need to make myself a real weapon since I'm still using a club but I'm not sure what I want to use. Jittes look badass though. Basically look like clubs but they're sexy and do a ton of blunt damage.

Dat screenshot tho. Almost seems like a different game.

Shit its been a while since I've updated this. Time to plaster pics and quips.

First things first. We got a new member right away since I had to do an import which brought in some random new people to recruit. So welcome Ghost Dog.

(click to show/hide)

While everyone was sleeping off the beatings from last time, I decided to head over to the bar outside the Hub for materials with Ghost Dog.

(click to show/hide)

Those dust bandits just wanted to play.

(click to show/hide)

We were not up to the task unfortunately with just the two of us. However, I wanted revenge. So after waking up the other lazy people in the group.. we lured some bandits from a dust bandit camp not far from the bar where Ghost Dog and I got wiped out.

(click to show/hide)

After some stragglers had broken off to fight some dust bandits, we had a good group still on us but I decided it was time to fight.

(click to show/hide)

(click to show/hide)

The fight was going very much in our favor. Even when Jona and Dynamics went down, it was looking good. Ghost Dog was only able to block one bandit since he was on defensive mode but it still helped take some pressure off.

(click to show/hide)

Then Voncrow and Heskey went down and things were getting worse. Too many bandits were still alive.

(click to show/hide)

Ghost Dog was taken off defensive mode to try and help Tristan a bit since he was closer to him but it backfired and Ghost Dog went down like a sack of potatoes. But some of the dust bandits had been knocked down so athe pressure was turning back into our favor.

(click to show/hide)

Then Tristan fell. I had to deal with the rest on my own.

(click to show/hide)

Which of course I did. Skeleton master race bb. The last 3 bandits standing were very weakened by the time Tristan fell so it was much easier to deal with by that point. I started to heal people and get them on their feet.

(click to show/hide)

I then looted everything I could to sell to the bar not 200 feet away which worked out pretty well. Until the slavers showed up to grab the bandits and their loot. Greedy bastards. I wanted that loot.

(click to show/hide)

After the aftermath of that battle, it was time to heal up and sell the remainder of the loot. While I waited for everyone to heal up though, I had heskey cook some meat. He really likes to get right in there for cooking.

(click to show/hide)

Fire safety? Who needs that?

After heskey finished cooking, we headed back to the bar to get ready to finish off the rest of the dust bandits. We did run into some hungry bandits but they were quickly dispatched.

(click to show/hide)

Piece of cake. Now it was time to finish the dust bandits off and eliminate the camp.

(click to show/hide)

And it was done with brutal efficiency.

(click to show/hide)

Healed up the people that got hurt the worst in the bedding the camp had lying around while I, Tristan and Dynamics ran some loot up to the bar. After I had looted everything I could grab and was about to finish for the day, I noticed Tasa Clan had reached a milestone.

(click to show/hide)

100k in cats. The war chest is swollen and I plan to make it bigger still.

Things are going well so far with a new recruit who is weak overall but is an amazing gunner with 60 skill in turrets which will come in handy once I set up a base. We will continue north to get new companions and perhaps scout for a base location.

Going north I apparently wanted to give a history lesson.

(click to show/hide)

I'm poetic at the end there. But yeah Holy Nation genocided skeletons like it was their holy duty. Oh wait...

But yeah Holy Nation got to go.

Soon.jpg

Until then though I'll happily buy from them with my temp squad made up of humans.

(click to show/hide)

Thor and Big Mac has joined Tasa Clan. Good times.

Not to be outdone by myself, Voncrow had a few words about the area as well.

(click to show/hide)

Just act holy guys. We got dis.

But while swimming across a small river, Thor wanted to show off.

(click to show/hide)

No dog paddling for Thor. Just walking across with no fucks given.

At another Holy Farm nearby, we pick up some more animal companions.

(click to show/hide)

Volt, Sparky and MadCow join Tasa Clan as well. Getting some sparks flying. I plan to have Sparky, Thor and Volt as my personal dogs to guard my mansion when I make my base with MadCow and Big Mac either guarding the gates or joining up with patrols holding food for the crew. Either way we got a posse going.

We run into a small group of hungry bandits with Volt and Thor wanting to show off their minimal combat prowess.

(click to show/hide)

Not to be outdone Big Mac charged a hungry bandit and attempted to gore him.

(click to show/hide)

We were getting low on supplies plus I was hoping for more recruits so I popped over to a nearby Holy Nation town with the temp squad. No recruits but I did pick up some light reading.

(click to show/hide)

Poor Timmy.

I decide to head north near the Fog Islands. A nice view of the Vain territory as I pass through. Might be acidic but its pretty.

(click to show/hide)

As we get closer to the fog islands, some people have some uneasiness about the place.

(click to show/hide)

Others just want to get out of dodge.

(click to show/hide)

Suck it up Dynamics. Just the fog islands with a bunch of fogmen that like to eat people. Whats the problem?

We run into a small group shortly afterwards.

(click to show/hide)

Thor and Volt are the first to fall. But we have cleaned up most of the fogmen already so it wasn't too much of an issue.

(click to show/hide)

Wanting to rest up, I decide to try and make camp in a nice nestled spot on the cliff.

(click to show/hide)

Apparently that spot was exactly where a bunch of fog heavies and princes wanted to run through. Fog Heavies are nasty son of bitches.

(click to show/hide)

Most of the group goes down and I realize I better get out of this place before everyone is picked up and eaten somewhere.

So I set up camp right outside the Fog Islands, not too far from the first group of fogmen that we fought. Far enough that we're out of the fog but not too far that we can't get right back in.

(click to show/hide)

Probably should set up some campfires.

Deciding to leave everyone behind to try and find Mongrel, I go in solo and just run past everything.

(click to show/hide)

I found Mongrel and as I wanted to try and make my way there.. I crashed.

So next time I plan to make a run for it to Mongrel either with a small group of people or just myself and see what I can find there then continue to move north. I do need to go back south but those spiders are fucking annoying. Plus I want the wolves and bulls to mature a bit more.

Only things that came out of those movies of any worth besides martin freeman as biblo. He had some good moments. He and Ian McKellen couldn't save it though. Its power of being terrible was too great.

So after the previous crash upon finding Mongrel, I decided to do exactly what I did before and do a speed run to Mongrel. Aw yeah.

Before I could do so though, I had a patrol of fogmen that was nearby.

(click to show/hide)

Everyone got in on the fun.

(click to show/hide)

Thor was the first to fall.

(click to show/hide)

He got right the fuck back up though.

(click to show/hide)

Then was beaten back down along with Sparky.

(click to show/hide)

But it was quickly taken care of and people and dogs/bulls alike, fixed up and set to rest. Albeit with a crowd of dying/dead and semi recovering fogmen a few feet from camp.

(click to show/hide)

So I set off into the fog islands with the rest of the squad resting and standing guard for the few fogmen that would eventually get back up to be cut down to die in their own bile. I do eventually attract more patrols.

(click to show/hide)

A very small patrol and I figure why not, I'll fight these guys.

(click to show/hide)

Meanwhile at camp, a small fogmen patrol runs into our camp and is quickly annihilated.

(click to show/hide)

I, however, am seeing some more fogmen join the fun as the small patrol is getting more people. Dammit fogmen, rule number 1 and 2 bitches.

(click to show/hide)

I keep fighting and more keep showing up. Its a party.

(click to show/hide)

It starts to get out of hand as the sun sets.

(click to show/hide)

Fogmen just can't keep their damn mouths shut. But eventually I succumb to the mob of filthy fogmen.

(click to show/hide)

I play dead until the patrols are out of range then fix myself up and run to Mongrel. Upon arriving, I see why it can survive such a harsh land. Plus as my first time here, its nice to see it for once.

(click to show/hide)

The gate guards where I came in almost immediately engage a fogmen patrol after I enter and upon seeing princes and fog heavies in the patrol, I turn around and offer my aid and my looting abilities.

(click to show/hide)

Snagged a few prince heads in that bunch which is a very nice chunk of change. I headed to the bar to see if I could sell them and to check out local recruits. Before I entered one however, I heard a peculiar noise.

(click to show/hide)

A very interesting fellow.

(click to show/hide)

Upon asking how much he charges, Beep was unsure what that meant.

(click to show/hide)

I then told him he was on the team. He was happy to hear it.

(click to show/hide)

I also saw this person in Mongrel and I wish I could hire him or have skills near his level. A definite asset.

(click to show/hide)

No wonder Mongrel can survive being surrounded by fogmen. I also found another recruit.

(click to show/hide)

Molly has joined the team and she brought a topper with her. Wish I could make those. Will make her the amoursmith once we set up a base.

Was about to leave Mongrel and rejoin the rest of Tasa Clan when I saw a patrol surrounded by fogmen.

(click to show/hide)

THey fell before we got there but with 2 fresh recruits (although Molly did have some combat skills), the ability to take on that group was diminished so we just tried to pull what we could towards the guards.

(click to show/hide)

Once the guards got involved, we fought what we could then saw a prince and attacked. That did not go well for Beep and Molly since heavies and princes are far outside their ability to handle.

(click to show/hide)

After surviving the attack, I healed up Beep and Molly and was in the process of repairing myself when a fogman attempted to kidnap Molly.

(click to show/hide)

After rescuing Molly and picking her up, I had us go back to Mongrel to find some beds for Beep and Molly. Apparently though when your arms are broken, you run like you're Naruto.

(click to show/hide)

You go Beep.

After dropping Molly and Beep off at my local friendly bar to rest, I decided to go back out to check on a problem.

(click to show/hide)

And I was not going to make a dent in the problem once I found it.

(click to show/hide)

That guy was screwed. I wanted to see if I could help but that was too many princes and heavies for me to handle and to bring in Molly and Beep would have Molly and Beep end up in that situation as well. I did end up fighting some fogmen that wandered my way.

(click to show/hide)

But after finishing those off, the group around that poor bastard only increased.

(click to show/hide)

Rip in peace. I headed back to Mongrel to wait out the last of Beep's and Molly's rest then to meet back up with the rest of the squad since I was primarily focused on myself and the new recruits they were just waiting outside the fog islands.

I stopped there for now and while in Mongrel I had Beep and Molly load up on food to take back to the rest of the squad. I also picked up 2 backpacks and a bunch of med kits and splint kits. The backpacks will go on the bulls and any excess food into those backpacks. But as a training ground I like fog islands. Just will be harder with meatbags since fogmen like to eat them as demonstrated by the princes and heavies on that poor bastard above.

Care to explain to someone who has almost no idea what's going on, other than what I've gleaned from the description of your exploits, how exactly the mechanics in this game work? If people fall in combat, are they merely unconscious and recover shortly thereafter (similar to the companions and lords in singleplayer warband)? Or if you fail to scare off the bandits/animals, could they murder/eat some characters, if not your whole party?

Well each character has health bars.

Blood (or oil for skeletons/mechanical characters) is basic hp. Each limb also has its own health which will mean if a leg is damaged below a certain number it will mean the character moves slower(afaik you can't ever lose complete use of your legs no matter the damage, a huge thing that the guy was going to put in but apparently decided not to). Or in the case of beep in the most recent episode when he had both his arms broken, he couldn't use a weapon or pick up any unconscious characters.

Most of the time people will fall unconscious and eventually recover enough to get back up. They won't be able to recover enough to get back to full health without a med kit or repair kit though. And if they're unlucky, they could not recover at all and never be able to break out of their coma and eventually die due to hunger or a hungry animal passing through or just blood loss. So without a med kit or repair kit, if you continually try to get into fights, or get unlucky enough to keep getting into them without trying and not healing, you will eventually die since you are not healing up. The more fights you get into without healing, the higher the chance is you die due to increases in wounds/blood loss since wounds won't heal completely.

So death is pretty hard to accomplish unless the skill levels/weapon lethality vs armor defense is too great. It is possible to die in a single hit if you get hit in the head or chest with a very strong attack. If your chest or head gets to -100 you die, whether through wounds or a single shot. If your blood loss gets too high which is also -100 afaik, you will die. If your hunger gets to 0, you automatically die.

Its a lot easier once you get a group going with decent skills to survive even a complete wipe since its much more likely someone can get up and heal the others. But a solo character has it very hard since they may get stuck in a slow blood loss and never be able to break out of the recovery coma and just die/remain in limbo with no chance of breaking out.

ANd yes if you fall in combat, animals will try and eat your people. Look at the time when the whole party got wiped fighting spiders and we got our bacon saved by berserkers. If they hadn't done that, the whole party (but me) would have been dead.

Indeed.

Its why I was able to fight in the fog islands with all those fogmen. They don't try and eat skeletons but if I had done that with you, you'd be tied up being devoured by princes. Rip in peace.

Skeletons do have the disadvantage of less armor such as the head which can be a major issue against some characters/animals in the game which I haven't fought yet. But I still like them more since no need for food, fast regen without having to be in a bed and tons of health. They're kinda OP imo but I like it (although once Molly starts cranking out armor and everyone has much better armor that may change and I'll be more of a liability since i can't take advantage of all my armor slots). The holy nation hates the living shit out of them but that's workable.

Soon

Probably once I get my base setup. My weapons are meh and my armor is shit. Once I can research and set up better armor/weapon armouries I'll be set. Plus everyone's combat abilities are a bit too low. Need them higher for defending the base and burning the holy nation cities.
