About the content, I struggled to find any other sources about this new development. Until I realised this isnt a new development, he made this statement to that general question at the start of this month a good week before other developments. It came up at least a week ago on BBC news and other online stuff I read in relation to him being fired, not sure why Breitbart is reporting it now as if he's responding to the more recent allegations...

Uh, what is your point, exactly? The alleged "influence" happened before he testified under oath that there had been no such influence. Did you really think the conversation took place one day before Comey was fired? You do realize Flynn was fired February 13? And that the alleged influence happened in February? And that this month is May? And that Comey testified in May -- which is after February?

Only if you go by the literal letter of what was said instead of spirit. Either Comey thought Trump wasn't actually pressuring him, in which case the memo is a bullshit way to get back at Trump, or he lied under oath, or he lied in his memo.

Has he said anything about the memo, actually? Would be hilarious if it turned out that it doesn't even exist and this "associate of Comey's" made it up.

Comey has a sterling reputation as a former prosecutor and FBI director for integrity and scrupulous adherence to the law.  Memo taking of conversations as a form of contemporaneous evidence of that conversation  is part of the dna at the FBI.  I don't believe he has lied about or made anything up vis a vis the President.  Comey spent the first two months of the Trump Administration trying to keep a professional distance between himself and Trump and the WH. 
I'm not sure that Trump saying I hope you can let it go, meaning the investigation, rises to obstruction of justice or not.  It certainly is inappropriate and given that he subsequently fired Comey, it is questionable.
