Need PC Help (Legit G.Discussion Material)

I hate OKAM forum so I put this here;

>I am really uneducated in PC building stuff.
>I am poor
>I will be poor for at least a year now

So I decided to try to build a cheap gaming pc for games like EU4, Paladins etc. and there are many articles about 200$ gaming PCs which sounds totally legit but I still have a few questions that I wanna direct towards holy beings that still linger in these god forsaken forums.

Should I buy an APU? Or CPU GPU seperately? I prefer smooth gameplay over graphics also.

My MOBO is Micro-ATX but in the case there are unused bolt spots in the right about size for an ATX MOBO, so I am guessing that's for that. So I won't pay for a new case. Am I wrong and those bolts are for other fancy shit? P.S.: I'm not gonna use my PSU since it makes weird noises and the outlet on the end is a little damaged. But maybe I should use to be as cost effective as possible, whatcha think?

Is there any difference except the size between Micro-ATX n ATX?

Should I buy 2x 2GB or 1x 4GB Ram, what's the difference? (I can just google I know but wanna know honest opinion)

thx^^

200$ gaming PCs are hardly "gaming".

By APU you mean integrated graphics? Because those are generally only good for office use. They might be able to handle a few older, undemanding games, maybe, but definitely nothing that's even relatively new. You will get neither smooth gameplay nor graphics.

Micro-ATX has fewer slots for stuff, so make sure you have enough for what you need.

You might get better performance from 2x2 RAM sticks, if the other stats are the same as the 4GB one (due to dual channel usage, not sure about this though), but it would make upgrading in the future more limited or at least more expensive, since you want to stick RAM sticks of roughly the same stats in your PC. With 4GB you can later buy another 4GB, and then some more, if you wish. With 2x2GB, you'd either have to discard them in favor of 4GB or greater sticks or buy more 2GB ones, thus limiting yourself to 8GB (assuming MicroATX has 4 RAM slots, i don't know about this).

Buy a really good current motherboard, use inexpensive components til you can afford to swap each one out with a good ones.

I'd say keep saving until you can buy something better, you really won't get much better at $200.

EU4 doesn't require much to run but Paladins probably does (I'm assuming this is the new MOBA game thing)

Also, it really helps to know your previous specs, that way we can compare specs to see how big the improvement will be. Just post them if you know them, it helps.

EU4 is very CPU intensive and decent CPU, thanks to our good jewish friends at Intel, are very expensive. There are games (Mafia 3) which don't work well on 50 euro dual core anniversary Pentium, no matter how high clock is. Intel i3s are 100+ euros and not great. i5xxxxK are good but new are very expensive and older generations are lagging behind.

GPU you can buy new, used and mining model. Decent new GPUs are GTX1050 and RX460, both should be around 100 euro. You can get used older mining GPU for less, like 7870 or 7850 or 260X or maybe even 280X but those cards tend to be in pretty bad condition because cryptcoin mining is 24/7 job, in a rig with many same cards, in a dark room... depends who and how using them. Some miners are taking great care of their hardware but 24/7 work will take its toll even on underclocked and well cooled down chip.

PSU is important, you need to get something decent. Not kungfu shit for 20 euros with case...

Monitor... that is the most important thing because you're looking at it all the time. You'll need lower resolution IPS tho, FullHD is too demanding for 400 euro gaming PC (200 euro gaming PC does not exist).

We live in this thing called Europe or somewhere on the outskirts of Europe, there are high taxes (25% on average) and exchange rate is 1 dollar means we pay 1.1-1.2 euros. We can forget about those prices you listed, discounts, gift vouchers and stuff like that. Due to low volume demand, three years old electronics still have original price because owner of the shop does not want to lose money on it

GPUs used for mining tend to be cheaper than regular used parts because they work 24/7 for months. Some good deals can be made there, depending on seller.

In Serbia, mining is really big because Serbs like to earn money while doing nothing. During last few years you could find ton of decent Radeon 280X for less than half the price of such new card. But it is bit of a gamble.

However 280X isn't enough this year. Used to be great 1080p card. It does need a lot of power, so decent GPU is a must.

You need at least 300 euro. Maybe there is desperate person who will sell you older i5 2500k, mobo, 4/8 gig of ram and 7970 or 7850 for around 200-250 euro. Here that can happen when people need quick cash to buy something else.

2500k+7850 should run OKAM on max in 1080p if cmp does his job properly.

You also need an operating system too, and even though windows 7 is being phased out it still sells for around $100.

Couldn't he buy OEM key for like 10$ and slap it on? That is legal within EU, not sure about USA.
