Back in the days I was a newmy old friend. Hard for me to use that term to describe a player who didn't start in 2011. Because you know, most common newmy old friends started cRPG in 2011 while earliest batch of newmy old friends like me started in late 2010. To think people who first came to cRPG in 2013 or 2014 or even 2015 (!!!) are called newmy old friends these days is baffling to me.

For fukken sake that means they never played cRPG before devs abandoned it in order to pursue professional gamedev careers. Because that officially happened back in 2013 and was cooking behind the curtains many months before that. This mod is hella resilient, to think it survived four years after original devs lost interest actively developing this mod! It is rather unusual. I've started mod is dead talk more than four years ago because around that time crazy development pace has stopped and we entered calm waters lasting till today. One tough bastard, this cRPG fella...

Edit: Still remember when cmp said they'll support cRPG for years to come. I called bullshit and expected them to shut down servers in no more than six months. Man spoke the truth, I ended up being fool (no news there).

Leshma, I've never really had an issue with your posts and I don't think I've ever antagonized you, but 5 years on and your still concerned with how long you've known about game developmentz and how long you've played this or that or whatever it may be, you always seem to always imply being "one of the first to do.. XYZ", chill out man. Relax.

I've not read most of thread so I dunno when this 'newmy old friend oldmy old friend' stuff became a topic in this thread, so i'm sorry if i'm picking on you- just your posts always seem to imply this stuff and I guess it irritates me enough to the point I felt like I needed to say something, although I didn't really NEED to, I just wanted to (consider me triggered/trolled or whatever you guys say on the internet these days).

My first memory was getting my ass pounded by just a bunch of names when I was level 1 with the peasant gear. Immediately had that "what the fuck is happening" adrenaline going through me, but I sought out the first TeamSpeak I could find (which was Fallen's) and then Fallen_Ramses showed me the ropes, it was insanely gratifying. I attended the Fallen training sessions and I felt like I was in an online bootcamp; I actually looked forward to the training nights. That TeamSpeak, at it's prime, was glorious. People tactically navigating the battlefield, calling out, awesome banter. I guess it was the collective effervescence of it all.  Mannnnnnnnnn loved it.

Brief EDIT::

Actually, I remember first being in HRE's teamspeak and realising that it was a mostly German speaking clan, Rogue then directed me to Fallen!

I remember a time where I could choose which mode to play - siege, eu7, sometimes even the ball game. Nowadays I'm forced to play the one and only epeen contest aka buttle.

Do you remember that special event chadz and cmp organized to test new servers? Arena, 250 player cap methinks, full to the brim. Maybe even more. I do remember that my PC was dying, chugging couple frames per second. But it was fun while it lasted :D

Native siege often have more than 200 players but that testing was special.

250 player server was great, i remember it being above 150 and stuff afterwards for a while which was cool. It was a bit too big for my liking in the long run, but damn id rather have that over 30 players. I also remember people coordinating an advancing shieldwall one day with huge amounts of players, and it actually worked for once. Usually shieldwalls just kills you for being too stationary.

And when they added siege shields  :mrgreen:  ranged crapped their pants for a couple weeks.
Then most of everybody stopped taking them coz it used slots and money.

Regular shitty shieldwalls yes, but not advancing ones where everyone keeps the line and walks forward. Static shieldwalls happened often, but are useless since sitting behind cover is just better in every way.

120 players at all times, having to mash the connect button untill you get a spot in there.
You mean wait for the goddamn automatic password to come off while the server has already dropped back to 90 players?
