Total noob here, could use some suggestions and general help building a mean machine for around $US 800-900. Want to play a few AAA games, and have something that will last me a bit.

The specs barely changed since the last time someone asked for a 800 dollar PC around here.

If anything, if you can wait it's probably a good idea to delay your purchase until the next generation GPUs come out.

This build is around $900-$1,000 and should last you a good a good while. Might want to get a bigger SSD card or add another one.

Thats not a computer

I guess it can't dl porn.

Much appreciated, Taser, will be pretty helpful. I kind of want to get an idea of a general build and run it by a buddy who knows a lot better than me

No problem.

Dupre put out a decent one but a bit higher than what you wanted.

I'd check out Kafein's link if you got some time to check some stuff out.

If you can, wait for new pascal cards to come out. And save up a little more money in the meantime... $800 is kind of on the low side imo. It won't be very future proof at that price.

By the way here's a must read about the most important part in your PC (no, it's not the mobo, the cpu or the gpu): http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

No need to read that, just buy Seasonic SS series that fits your budget. If not, well buggers, you ain't going to have good PSU in your PC. Rest are a bit crappy. If your PC isn't draining lot of power, then you can get 420W from Seasonic. But if you use high end components, then you should have money for high end PSU.

Edit: Mistake, meant SS series. S is bronze model, decent but not excellent. Still if you can't buy SS go for Seasonic S bronze. Do not buy CM, Corsair, Evga and other shit. Antec and Enermax are good too but not better than SS and think they are more expensive. There are ultra high models costing 300+ dollars (Targa manufacturer) but you don't need that...

That's wrong. So wrong in fact, it's very wrong, even though right or wrong is supposed to be a binary information.
