The goal of Strategus battles shouldnt be to deprive your enemies of players, but to have full roster both sides and have the gear/tactics/strategy win the day rather than lack of merc support.

The legendary trend of blaming Fips is real. Yet there is actually some truth to it in this case. After all, he was responsible for conquest, whose maps constantly disintegrated the siege population until there was barely anyone left.

Wait, people seriously don't know why it died is dying?  You all must be new, or have short memories.

There was never one thing that killed the mod.  There wasn't one patch, or one player, or one new game, or one dev that came along -- and all of a sudden players started leaving.  This was never the case.

Mod is old.  That is all.

How many multiplayer games out there are still thriving after 6 years with the same population as when it first came out?  I'm sure you could name a few -- ones with massive player bases, and tons of money behind them.  This isn't one of those.

Now think, how many multiplayer games thrive for 2, 3, or 4 years, and then slowly dwindle?  Trust me, it's many more.  Almost all of them.  Just the way things go, bros.

i can't recall a dev or a mod who was any good at the game.
with an average level of 37.8 on EU1, it doesn't help to be lower level because you have to split your free time between playing and contributing to the mod so that the general public (read: not yourself) can play 30 hour binge-gaming sessions biweekly

He did, but was mostly when they updated stuff and released it to public, testing purposes likely I guess..
I can barley remember but when I'm not wrong I have seen him on introduction of siege and defend the village some times.

I guess mod isn't dead and it's also not about that the game is too old it's a con yes but at least this game makes fun over a time.
I think the others are kinda similar to me checking on web if some server has players on like 10-20 so they might join..
But since siege is a pain in the ass even with 10-20 players they mostley decide to play or do something different instead of barley fun..

DTV is ok even with low amount of ppl so it's always kinda running it self thanks to some bot slaugthering addicts :D
So is battle, battle is even with decend players still lots of fun :)

For good sieges there is the need of such huge clans like drz and grey who bring lots of people even if its always nearly the same setup they bring enough footies to fill the ranks.
With randoms from different clans it's lot of fun and slightly feels like old siege days (expect I kinda suck even more lal).. Siege is always good populated with different players when they join.

I updated crpg 1-2 days before this problem first time appeared. Not sure if it's luck or bad luck, because I'm playing this mod again..

It's a problem with updating or repairing the client, not logging in.
