If you are a pro archer, then it isn't a big deal if you have green arrows or not since you know your shit. But for scrubs -like me- it is godlike, because all I do is watching the arrow, where it lands, then aiming better.

And about macros, its not only about feinting, its about blocking too.
The main problem of a manual blocking in crpg is that you want block left but your mouse block down.
To avoid this people could use macros, you hit an additional button on your super mouse and it blocks left without mousemovement.
You can program your mouse or use autohotkey for such things.
If someone play crpg over years all his free time, why should not this guy buy a mouse with 6 or more buttons and use it.

In order to make macros useless you need make the old faster gaming speed, so people will not always be able to hit the right button on their mouses.

The only solution I'd believe to work here would be to force the launcher to update those files every time you start the game; and then make server unable to join without people using Launcher.

Colored arrows/bolts/throwing things/ weapons etc and invisible walls/bushes are huge advantages and definitely 100% cheating. If I could 100% prove anyone to be cheating I would ban them but then I would never know when I could trust them to not be cheating or 100% certain they are cheating so pretty simply put admins can't do much.

the major downside to this is that it punishes people running higher rez textures and graphics settings.

I run a higher rez graphics pack and modified grass coverage which makes the game look much better.   I would much rather be somewhat at a disadvantage and having the game look semi current than being forced to use the regular textures/foliage ect because someone is cheating by removing bushes and other foliage.

Maybe instead of a texture blacklist, it should be a whitelist. Meaning anything outside of approved textures will not allow the game to launch. Sure this would create extra work with having to approve submitted textures, but something like this would put an end to transparent walls/invisible grass trees etc. Not sure if this is possible, but it is a thought.

A blacklist can always be evaded with new textures that we may never know about, but a whitelist will ensure people that are using custom texture models are using things that do not give a huge advantage.
