Long Jian is labeled as 1h because she use the 1h wpf. The actual mixed 1h/2h animations is a try made by. Also, she have a overhead animation, I use it on one of my alt and I have no problem to make overhead with it.

Overhead only works with 2h, not 1h with shield.  Also if it's a onehanded/two handed weapon, it should be listed in the 2h weapon list, not 1h list.  I can't left swing or overhead with a shield, the weapon is broken.  Please fix overhead/left swing with shield, and remove the 2h animations from the weapon.

Stab and right swing use 1h animation, overhead and left swing use 2h animation.  The weapon is clearly fucking broken.

The weapon is clearly fucking broken.

This is not because something is not "conventional" that he is inevitably broken... Look at the flamberge, nobody complain about his animations.
I'm trying something else with the Long Jian atm, it probably gonna make everyone happy.

being able to only stab or right swing with a weapon listed as a one hander, when used in 1h mode, would classify a weapon as broken to a person who is specced for 1h WPF, and found the weapon listed under the one handers in the shop.

I'm assuming this isn't what your final intention was with the weapon, which would also mean it's broken (in its current state).

It's not because a weapon is classified as a 1h that inevitably she have to be usable with a shield. She work well when she is used without shield so to me she is not broken. She is already edited, I have make it pure 1h with all my modifications as secondary mode. New stats should be available for the next update.

My goal was to make something different, Something more closer to a real bastard sword. I'm gonna wait the feedback of the new version and maybe I'm gonna edit some other weapons with these modifications if people like them.

So will it be like the other bastard weapons when used in onehand mode it will have a speed and damage malus (from the listed stats on website?). If so you should move it to the 2hand weapon shop category like the other bastard weapons

Secondary mode gonna have a bit less speed but a bit more dmg.

It's a 1h with 1h wpf. I don't see any reason to put it as 2h in shop. Anyway, even if I want it I can't because of the automated process.

It's in 1H on the shop because it uses 1H WPF. It has 2H animations for some of the swings, but those swings still use 1H WPF.

Like Matt said, look at the flamberge. It has polearm animations for some of the directions, but those attacks still use 2H WPF.

I would love to see more weapons with mixed/different animations. Especially for 1H swords; there are SO many of them that they kind of blur together after a while. No matter what kind of 1H sword you want, there are like 10 choices and they only have tiny differences between each other.

I'm not against a weapon using 2h WPF but polearm animation, nor am I against a weapon using 1h WPF but having some 2h animations.  The problem I had with the weapon was clearly stated.  When I have a shield equipped, I can't left swing or overhead. 

Without a shield, I can left swing and overhead but it was using 2h animation (and it was also using 2h WPF, pretty noticeable when you have 130 WPF vs 1 WPF in a skill).  Right swing and stab were using 1h animation/wpf.  I just hope that "some" of the animations using 2h animation, isn't going to be a problem for using the weapon with a shield (i.e no left swing/overhead with shield), if it is, it shouldn't be listed in the 1h category shop, it should be in the 2h shop.

Hopefully Matt's changes will have addressed it in the next patch  :D

You are totaly wrong on this point, probably a "placebo" effect  :wink:

It's exactly the same system as the flamberge. I can put 1h, 2h, pole or even throw animation and it still gonna use the 1h wpf. There is no link between the animations used and the wpf "style" applied. I can make a 1h with 2h animation or a pole with 2h animation, there is no problem with this.

The only problem with the long Jian atm is the impossibility to use it with a shield (and tbh, I don't see it as a problem).
