I played it up until the last area. I kinda enjoyed it, but I just dont understand its popularity.

I feel like basically anyone could have made this game, and a professional probably could have done it in a week. the dude used game maker studio, and got 50k from a kickstarter to do it. The humour can be funny but its a long way from ingenious, its mostly pretty obvious trope parodies - fun but not the second coming of almightly christ.

And yet it's sold half a mill copies so dude is a multi-millionaire now which just baffles me. I guess I should be inspired but I'm mostly just bare jelly bruv.

I don't really care how much effort was involved. This guy did what other people didn't do. And obviously some people wanted it.

Im surprised how poor every arguement against undertale has been. I mean if you hate the fandom then ok, but if you hate the game then you may want to have some legit arguements if you are going to post it. Overrated isnt really one either, but very common still.

like those guys who claim that every old game is bad because it has bad graphics
and FIFA´s the best game ever, that´s why they´re buying it every year again

I guess the references to the game is what gets people hatin on the fandom. Personally i love references to everything i can relate to, especially in the most bizarre places where they shouldnt actually belong.

So the soundtrack uses a lot of sped up/ slowed down versions of the same songs, which is pretty cool, but this one was really a surprise to me

And this one is also neat.

I like the concept of using the same base with different speeds and such, makes it sort of grow as you progress. Tower of heaven did this too, a small flash game that is really simple and cool.

You can align anything over anything if you play with speeding up/slowing down the tracks. I don't think the dog and temmie theme are actually supposed to mesh in the combat tracks.

But they have the same melody, i mean they align perfectly. Theyre definitely based off eachother.

Dog and Temmie themes are obviously related. The generic combat tracks (anticipation, enemy approaching and so on) are also related to one another. But those two groups don't share any melody with one another. A less obvious example, "Home" is "Undertale" slowed down. That sort of thing goes on all over the place in the OST. I'm sure "You Idiot" is some massively fucked up version of

or something similar.

And just for good measure, there's the Crypt of the Necrodancer shopkeeper singing in the FFVI-inspired opera piece.
