The main problem is that this game will need a huge player base to be fun, and have some nice big scale battles, so we can't have 50 people on the servers... It just wouldn't be fun. Hence my other statement that we need more people to play. Obviously Alpha hasn't even started, but I really hope there will be a big player base by the time beta comes around

They really need the money though. These guys have given up a lot of time, and definitely deserve our money, maybe they could find a balance between a price that's worth it for them, and the buyer. I'd say about $20-25 would be a price most people would pay, and enough to continue supporting the project, but it depends on how big the interest will be.

Haha yeah fuck "freemium" games, or micropayments.  I'll pay once and enjoy the game, I may possibly pay a monthly fee for access, but only if the original game was about the same price as one month's payment.
