yeah it was a shame it wasn't in battle (kinda makes a mockery of Ubba the mighty hero that loses to uhtred who we have barely even seen fight and has no battle experience.) but some things were cool in that episode. I'm happy they added in the little things like

uhtred killing the guy for stealing the tree,

it is a shame we don't see him in wales in all his battle joy and learning, not even a montage to explain his full on tactical knowledge

I don't mind to much. Uthred becomes known as a great warrior by reputation so I think it's fitting they build that up early rather than just in the midst of combat.

What I like though is the fact they stick to him being naive and not claiming the credit because he assumes it will be given regardless.

When I watched episode 6, the commercial told me only 2 episodes left. Not sure if that's good or bad. In America most shows get 12 episodes and they cut them down to 8 if they're showing poorly, but I know across the pond, especially BBC tends to do 8 episode seasons. Only time will tell. 6 is awesome and I can't wait for episode 7.

Cool series, love the pace, it has very little downtime and lots of these little time-skips. The dude goes through 3 serious relationships in the span of 8 episodes, for gods sake But yeah, feels like fast paced Vikings, with a bit more fairy tale feel to it.
