An unpopular opinion, of course, seeing as implying that men and women have unequal brains is taboo. Throughout history a certain number of female writers published under their husband's name, so the picture you get is skewed.

As for the topic, we get many men at the top of society much for the same reason we get many men at the bottom. The 5% or whatever difference in average IQ doesn't really factor into it, the fact that the IQ distribution of men is much more flat does.
